Looks like a new firmware load is avail for GCQuad. Have not downloaded as yet & no idea what "improved region or registration check" means .....

I don't have a Quad (I do have a GC2/HMT), so I don't have a dog in this hunt, but...

That description doesn't sound like it improves usability / flexibility for the user. LOL. Call me jaded with Foresight, but without more detail, I would be concerned it enables more ability to lock the device down from a travel perspective, etc.

I almost installed and then re-read the release notes. Not worth trying if there's a chance it screws up TGC2019 just so that there's region checks built into the new firmware.

Yes, sounds like enhanced geo-blocking. They might have wanted to add a couple of useful features in addition to the restriction. Not sure many folks are going to be rushing to install this...
