GC2 / TCG - Everything looked great in the set up, then....nothing.

    Hi All !

New guy to the site trying to get my GC2/TGC running. Read through the set up and other topics, looking for help if you don't mind please.

Windows 10 gaming laptop. Installed Asus BT400 and recommended extender. While waiting on lic. keys I practiced in Foresight FR1 driving range using bluetooth. Not sure if it was the dongle next to the GC2 or the the built in on the laptop BT but it was working on BT.

Received the keys, Installed everything as instructed. Protee interface, GSX and TGC set all the settings. Com ports were good, bluetooth connected, CG2 showed connected and not just paired.Green lights and connected in GSX. Started TGC2019, I thought, can't be this easy.....it wasn't. Went to the practice chipping area and the ball wasn't registering. The GC2 was showing multiple shots on it's screen. Reading through the forums a few posts said to disable the built in BT. Well doing that I lost my COM ports, and couldn't get connected in GSX. I had an error on both BT400 and built in BT in the device manager, COM ports changed numbers when I got them back in the BT settings. Managed to get the built in BT to work again (no error) after enabling and updating drivers but I cannot get the BT400 to not throw an exclamation error in the device manager. After messing with it I finally got the COM ports and settings in GSX to connect again, Foresight connected in bluetooth, not just paired. Opened TCG and it still wouldn't register my chips but showing on the GC2 screen.

So I'm guessing it's the the BT400. I can't get the Asus BT400 to not have the exclamation error in the device manager like in the beginning. Uninstalled/Reinstalled, updated drivers. And the only other difference is the COM3 port doesn't say Foresight GC2 next to it like it did in the beginning. As I said, I can get connected in GSX again, just no shots register in TGC. I've been restarting, unplugging/plugging BT400, and put my laptop right next to the GC2 to see if the built in would work in TGC since the BT connection works in FR1, and it doesn't. I think on one of the tries, although they were both showing working in the beginning, when I had the built in disabled, the Asus BT400 was working (no error) but I couldn't get the COM ports to work anywhere.

Something simple I'm sure. I'm just getting tired and i seem to keep trying the same things maybe in a different order and it's not working. I've read through a bunch of posts but seems I'm reading the same things over and over again. I've attached a screen shot of what the settings look like now if you can see it. The pic if you can see it is showing the protee settings, the GSX is connected, the Foresight connected in bluetooth settings. But getting an error in the device manager on the BT400. They were both showing they were working (no errors in the device manager) before I disabled the built-in bluetooth. Somebody has probably run into this and knows a way.

Thanks in advance for any help or recommendations you can provide. I'm hoping one of the experts here can hook me up as I've been trying for 6 hours and getting tired/loopy....and apparently whiney.
Like most posts asking for help.....I just want to get it working and plaaaay !

    Thanks guys,
    Clay

Dang it, I left out the GSX showing connected in the attached pic....but it was connected at the same time as the other settings pictured.

      Hi,
you don’t seem to have the latest version of GSX, mine is 3.17b. Also you need to set the use game toggle to TGC.

Thanks for the replies! I had it on at one point but not sure at what time in the process. But this was set to 'off' in the original set up guide (pic from set up post attached). And I think i used the link also to download the interface also in the set up post. Let me give those a try and check back. Appreciate the help/suggestions.

Appreciate the help sooo much, you know how it is when you want this thing to work so you can practice/play the first time. So I updated Protee interface. Selected TGC. Not connecting, so it's maybe the COM ports in bluetooth or maybe the COM port settings in GSX? It should be COM3 in GSX correct? Attached pics all the settings at this time.

            Thanks again.

              Should be COM4 in GSX.

                dChanged to COM4 in GSX,

Restarted Protee, turned on GC2, opened GSX still disconnected.

Seems everything changed when I disabled the built in BT, because although it wouldn't register hits in TGC it did show connected in GSX. I may or may not have TGC selected at that time, I thought I did at some point. I'm guessing I should leave the built in BT disabled? Once I did disable it, I can't seem to get the BT400 and the built in BT working at the same time anymore. So it's probably a moot point as the built in should be disabled correct? Again the help is very appreciated. Sorry if I'm a dumbarse, but willing to learn.

                thanks!

you might have to remove the gc2 from the bluetooth devices list and re-pair

                    Hey
i get that disconnected on one of the 2 green indicators sometimes as well. I switch it to off and back on and usually after a few times both show connected.

Thank you so much for the suggestion alexsmith11. I went to play so I was away for awhile. That seemed to be the (last) trick of many !! Thanks to all that took the time to care and reply and to offer help and suggestions. After I deleted it from the BT connection as suggested I had to change the COM ports in GSX because they went to a higher after deleting number but it is working!!!!
Hopefully after a restart and from here on out it should be good right? We'll see after a restart if it sticks. I appreciate all of you that had input and ideas. So great to have a community that understands the passion of a fellow golfing brother and will help with ideas and support.

Fingers crossed that it continues to stay connected after using and restart etc. It should be good now after restart and continue right? Does anyone usually have issues after it's configured and after a shutdown and restart? I'm a little scared because my computer is now saying it needs to update Win10. Any tips on issues of what others have experienced after an update other than the internal bluetooth possibly being turned back on that I've read about?

Anywhooo.....Although I don't know if I'm out of the woods and it'll continue to work, either way I just want to say I appreciate everyone's input and that take the time to respond with ideas.

                      Thank you all.
