  • Adding Additional Courses - How many are Enough?

I am admittedly a sucker for the 3 for 1 deals and other "specials". Against regular pricing these offers are decent deals, but it begs to question of how many courses makes sense. It is also a bit frustrating that there does not seem to be any rhyme or reason of which courses show up - hey Harbor Town, hey Sawgrass .... those would be no-brainers for me. Have not heard of any of the courses on the latest 3 for 1 deal but I would appreciate any thoughts here from the group.

Also, has anyone had any updates or insight into this graphics engine upgrade that gets mentioned here and there?

I only have 16 - the 13 that came with the quad and then pebble/spyglass combo. I haven’t looked through the entire course catalog but may pick up a few more. But for myself, that’s more than enough for me. How many do you currently have?

About 50 or so. There are the 5 free courses which come with the quad and I got a package deal as well at the same time. Then I have been picking off the "specials" for the last year or so.

I enjoy playing the different courses, and I am fortunate to be able to afford to feed the insanity, but at some point I wonder if enough is enough.

Yeah I got the 5, plus the additional 8 that people get with the sim in box package (carnoustie, merion, colonial, etc) even though I didn’t get a sim in box. Maybe it was a special that I got. Anyway, colonial is a fun course and I tend to play that one the most since I usually shoot pretty good on that course, lol

But I guess if you can afford the courses why not?

I have FSX and TGC 2019. As you may know, this type of question points to TGC. One fee, unlimited courses and more are added everyday. Plus, you can get basically any real course done. I have 5 or 6 FSX courses. I give them a try now and then, but after 4 or 5 holes switch back to TGC. I just like it better. Took me 100 hours, but I figured out Lidar and the designer in TGC and added my local course. Was fun to play over the winter.

Maybe this has been hashed over before. Not trying to start a battle. Just saying, try TGC if you haven't. Different for sure.

I only have 35, but I think I've reached my limit because I know I haven't played all the ones I have so why buy more...unless it's a course I KNOW I will play.

Just checking to see if there was actually a way to purchase individual courses privately without going through Foresight? Could someone just deactivate the certain course from their account and sell the activation code to another person? Seems like it would work but just wanted to confirm. Thanks.

I have about 25, and it's plenty. There are around 8-10 courses that I play regularly and I will not buy more unless I'm pretty confident they will fall into that group. So no random 3 for 1 deal purchases. When Augusta comes out I'll get it.

I also was a sucker for all the deals . I have over 60 courses on FSX. I demo e6 software a few weeks ago and after playing that I immediately purchased as I think its so much better than the current FSX. I like it way more. I also kind of like the $600/yr subscription model than I get all the courses. I was spending more than that anyways a year on FSX courses. Otherwise I have my favorites and stopped buying FSX courses as I wouldn't play some courses after I played them once and you don't need them to play in leagues. Just my thoughts.

Much the same as above... I think I have about 40, and I haven’t even played them all. I tend to stick with my favourites... but am a sucker for a special offer. I’ve stopped buying any more for now - at least until I’ve played all the ones I have a couple of times.

I should make a list, go through it and tick them as I play them, and then do it again so I know I’ve tried each one at least twice 😂

Was supposed to be getting my GC2 last week but now it'll be another 2 to 4 week delay which really sucks. But they are offering me 3 free courses or a discount on the Pebble Spyglass combo. I'm thinking I'm gonna take the 3 courses most likely I'll be using TGC or some other software for most of my course play anyways. What I'm asking is which courses should I select as my 3, they have to be in the regular priced tier. Whats everyone' favorites.

Couire D Alene or Gearheart I'm getting cause both are semi local to me. Not sure on which one though.

                      Then maybe
                      Colonial
                      Quail hollow
                      The Olympic Club
                      La Jolla Pines
                      Oakmont

Which 3 should I go with?

Those are good choices. I would also throw in Abu Dhabi and Doral Blue Monster into the mix as well.
