Anyway to add a Third Display in FSX2020

I currently have a fairly standard set up with my computer screen displayed on my computer monitor, then with extended display projected onto my projector screen. I am wanting (I think) to add a 55 to 60 inch tv on the wall I face as I hit. It will sometimes display golf channel but sometimes when practicing, I might want it to mirror my main computer display. Specifically, when I am using video with my swing cameras, I would like to be able to see them just by looking up, rather than by walking back to where the computer is set up. Other times, I might want it to display FSX Pro Screen.

Possible? If so, thoughts on how?

I have the exact setup (less live TV) that you want but you may not like how I get there.....

I had issues while setting it up the way I wanted and I think part of the problem was that I wanted nothing on my impact screen other than the golf course, range, whatever...no graphics. I'm going by memory here and will check later but I think I had to set my computer monitor as my main display. That took away the graphics. Fine so far. Then I used another port - there's 4 - in my video card to power the TV. I wanted the TV to mirror the computer monitor so, like you, I can look at all the info without moving from the hitting area.

I could set it up this way with no issues....until I shut it down and did a restart. That's when FSX would "see" an additional monitor and reassign (main, secondary, etc.) each unit - my TV, computer monitor and projector. When this would happen, all the time I spent setting up monitor, TV and projector would be rearranged and I'd have to start over.

The solution? I started by putting a splitter coming off one of the ports on my video card. At the split, one goes to my computer monitor and the other to my TV. Originally, I thought that FSX would "see" only the one connector going into the video card and I'd by golden. Not the case. Each time I would shut down and then restart, FSX would again reassign each display.

The final solution? I have to have the TV disconnected before I start up FSX. Once FSX is up and running, THEN install the plug - into the open splitter socket - and turn on the TV.

Yeah, it's a drag. Not the best but it gives me what I want.

If you click the Parts link on the left, near the bottom is the splitter that I used.

Hope that helps or at least gets you going in the right direction. If there's another way to get it this way, I'm all ears.

I forgot....
I went down and checked my settings

For WIndows, the display is set to "Extend these Displays."

In FSX, in Settings, under the Graphics tab, Main Display choice is "Display 2." "Enable Dual Display" is checked.

Under the Dual Display tab, Main Display choice is "Display 2" and Secondary display is "Display 1."

This combination gets me the impact screen with no graphics and the TV and computer monitor - with the plugging/unplugging described above - that gives me all my data and numbers.

Thanks Jon for taking the time to write that up. Yes, I was thinking that if I split the signal from the computer to the computer monitor and to the tv I would be golden. I wonder if a slightly dumber splitter might work. OK - will see if anyone else weighs in but otherwise I have a place to start.

Great web site to describe the build & fantastic job! Interestingly we have the exact same computer monitor so that helps.

You are very welcome and thanks for the kind words for my site - I can't take all credit as my daughter is a design manager for Adobe and she gave me a crash course on what to do.

Next up: cameras. I think we got the same thing - Imaging Source - and I'm fooling with them to get he best picture. Once I get it all figured out, I will add it to the site.
