  • Ready for lights and cameras

My GCQuad should arrive any day now. Any suggestions on overhead lights and swing cameras that are compatible?

And where should the cameras be positioned, and assuming they are just USB'd into my computer? (have not bought my computer yet)

If you do some searches you'll find that the camera capabilities of FSX20 are really quite poor. There are a number of options, depending on how much you want to spend and what quality you want to achieve.

You will definitely find cheaper options, but I use Swing Catalyst software paired with 2 IDS3140 cameras -- one face on and one DTL. This is a sample of what I was able to get quality wise with this setup: https://youtu.be/9VKhsMzKH54

If you do decide to go down this path, you will need to have 2 separate computers -- one to run FSX and one to run Swing Catalyst. Trying to run the two on the same machine just won't work -- each consumes a good bit of processing power. You are right to be concerned about lighting -- you will need to have extra lighting put in (I had this done when the room was finished by my contractor -- added about 4000 lumens right over the hitting area). I just used four little spot lights that are recessed into the ceiling.

Hope this helps. I definitely find my cameras extremely valuable.
