  • FSX 2020 - Camera laggy

    Hi guys,

i installed two cameras with FSX 2020.
Works good, but sometimes FSX is a little bit laggy if i switch one camera from 640x480 240 FPS to 1280x720 and 120 FPS.
The other camera is 1280x1024 with 240 FPS
Strange behavior: sometimes FSX is slow and the video is laggy, only 10 frames for one swing....

I've got powered windows 10 with i7 4,4GHZ - SSD harddisk and a good graphic card.

Does somebody have the same issue?

    Best regards
    Philip

I have had that happen intermittently during a session. It is usually only a few swings out of 100 that it does it on. I've got a dedicated sim computer that should have plenty of power too. My guess is that some background Windows thread kicks in at the wrong time and messes up that swing. At least in my case, it happens rarely enough that it doesn't really bother me. It is also rare enough to make troubleshooting difficult...

I've had this issue forever where some replays are super slow. I've had it when the GC2 was plugged in via bluetooth or USB so I don't think the connection itself is the problem.

I have a potential theory. I noticed recently when my replays were really slow that the ball had bounced back and was in "view" of the GC2 but not in the proper location. I was getting that flashing indicator in the background that tells you to put the ball in the correct spot. My guess is FSX is getting bogged down when this happens. I moved the ball back into the proper position and went back to the same video replay and it was working without issue.

It is also possible if you stand too close to the GC2 during replays that your shoes can also confuse it causing that same background warning about ball placement.

If that isn't it then windows itself likely has CPU contention causing the lag.
