  • Purchased used GC2 and need Range software

    Title says most of it.

I have been searching high and low and can't find an answer (I consider myself a fairly savvy google user). I am moving from Skytrak to GC2 and fear I will miss the range software.

Is the only option to pay $3k for FSX2020? I don't need/want the courses in FSX2020, as I am likely transferring my TGC 2019 lifetime. I also plan on signing up for GS Pro for sim/course play.

Is it possible to buy an older version of FSX for less money? Are there other software packages that will provide the same type of range experience on the GC2 as I have on the skytrak?

I spend equal time on the range and in coaching sessions (over zoom) as I do playing courses, so a range is very important. The GC2 is a practice tool first.

There is a guy that sells a demo version of Foresight FR1 on ebay (~$100). It comes with one course and the driving range with no ability to add more courses and no dongle necessary. I'm not sure how I feel about it as it seems like he is just printing money as I'm sure that software wasn't intended on being resold and he is reselling it over and over. But... it's much cheaper that $3000.

For a more full feature range/practice, Creative Golf 3D is an option. It runs for ~$1500 and you have to buy it from a Foresight dealer. I tried the demo and really liked it but don't think it is worth the price if you already have TGC.

TGC2019 (The Golf Club) is a course simulator. It's ~$900 for the lifetime version. 1000s of courses and decent physics.
        Working...
