    Putting without the add-on

Can the quad without the add-on (and in my case without FSX) read distances when putting? If so, are the distances accurate, and what is the stimp? I think it would be great to use for distance control practice.

It will read a ball strike like with any other club. But of course it's not going to give you the distance - the quad only reads the ball through the quad's visual window. You could use ball speed as a guide and translate that into putt distance. Or for example just try to hit the exact same ball speed every time as a consistency drill. But I do not think that would be worth the effort, for me. Even with the putting add-on it is a challenge to identify good ways to train putting with the quad.

Thanks for the info. It looks like there are some distance by mph charts online for different stimp readings. Could be good as long as the quad's mph reading is spot on, because a difference of 0.5mph can be an inaccuracy of a few feet. Would think so though because a slower ball should be easier for the cameras to read?

I agree with what delaoi said. If you are working on distances you could easily just work on putting for speed and use a stimp chart for a guide. The main use for the putting add-on for me and local pro's I work with is for AOA, Launch Direction, and Club Face. We really do not use it for distance as you could just use the distance in front of you for that in any environment whether it be outside or indoor.
