I was using the GC2 today and then all of a sudden it gave misreads on every shot. I've changed the flash but it's still the same. This happened all of sudden and now I get the dashed lines on every shot. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution? I'm hoping it's not a major fault with the device. I've been using it fine for about 18 months and purchased it from Ebay.

You might have already checked this but maybe try elevating the GC2 unit a little bit higher than the hitting surface. Also, make sure the unit is completely open when using. I know mine sometimes collapses ever so slightly and I get the miss reads / dashed lines. Just my thoughts. Good luck. -

Thanks for your replies. I've tried it on various surfaces and heights etc but with no luck. I've also ensured that the device is fully open as suggested. I've just sent a support request to Foresight so hopefully they will have an idea what is causing the problem.Comment

Have you tried a hard power reboot? It's a bit scary since there's a warning that pops up not to do it but several have done it with success.Comment

Not sure if this will help, but I once ran into that issue as well and then i took some window cleaner and cleaned all the cameras along with the black strip and had no issues since then.Comment

Two things you can try:
1. disconnect the battery and any charger input. Let it sit for 30 minutes so any internal capacitor is discharged. Reconnect the battery and/or charger and restart Unless you disconnect the battery you really never start from scratch unless the battery is completely discharged
2. With the battery and a charger connected reload the firmware and drivers which you can find on the Foresight web site. What you are trying to do here is reload the operating system i.e. firmware, in case the internal EEprom has dropped a bit or two.
Over the years both of the above have recovered my GC2 from a situations similar to what you have described.Comment

Thanks for your suggestions. I’ve tried them all but unfortunately the problem persists. I found an old thread where someone had a similar fault. The issue was a problem with the flash control board and it had to be fixed by Foresight. I’m waiting on a reply from Foresight so hopefully I can send it to them soon to be fixed.Comment

Can you see the flash firing when you hit a putt. It won’t be bright but you should see a reddish light flashing. If not, the flash power board is probably the issue. I can repair it for you if you don’t want to go through foresight. Since you bought it on eBay they will likely charge you a $500 registration fee to talk to you. Feel free to send me a PM
