Alignment of GC2 to pin / flag

    You are making this way too complicated. The azimuth will be zero when the ball direction is parallel to the face of the GC2. Flag location is kind of irrelevant since you can rotate the GC2 to whatever direction you want..

    As to where the range pin is in the simulator software it is wherever your projector alignment places it. If you have the projector lens exactly in the center of the screen the pin and line is in the center of the screen. If you want a shot going down the line at the pin to be reported as 0 azimuth then you need to have the ball aligned to a line that hits the center of the screen and is parallel to the face of the GC2..

      Seriously? Test 1 is parallel to the gc2. Test 2 is not. The GC2 does not know where the flag is. Test 2 is a push. Test 1 is straight. Test 3 is not a test.

        Thanks mthunt. Trying to explain this is sometimes difficult. Bottom line is hit it parallel to the unit and that is straight. Not sure what test 3 is but from his original post test 1 and test 2 will show the points. No different in GC2 or Skytrak.

          Yeah I think I was missing what you guys were asking for.
          I know Test 2 was weird but thats how I read your comments.

          So if the GC2 doesnt know where the flag is - how do I know if I'm hitting it straight? Is it just lining up the unit to be parallel to the mat?

              You're over thinking this whole thing and making it way too complicated! Forget about the flags!!
              The GC2 is only measuring your ball between its 2 cameras - which are a couple of inches apart.

              A shot will be straight if it passes the 2 cameras at the same distance (parallel to the GC2). The GC2 is measuring how far left or right you hit the ball off parallel.

              Assuming you have a square or rectangular hitting mat:
              Line your GC2 up so that its parallel with the hitting mat.
              Hit some balls with your feet lined up with the edge of the mat.
              If the GC2's PUSH/PULL reads 0.0, then you've hit it perfectly straight.
              If the GC2's PUSH/PULL reads L2.5°, then you've hit it 2.5° left. If it reads R2.5°, then you've hit it 2.5° right.

              Simple test to make sure your GC2 is lined up perfectly is to putt a ball along 2 alignment sticks which is parallel to the GC2 and it 'should' read 0.0
