FSX Play / FSX 2020 - Foresight Graphics update possibly??

Check out the two below pics. The first is released with the GC3 marketing. I find it interesting the TV in the background has an FSX that appears much better in graphics than FSX2020. Same with the Sim-in-a-box photo. That is a lot of detailed design photoshopping work to add in shadows, texturing etc. I cannot see someone doing that by hand just for this piece of marketing.

Thus, could that be FSXPLAY and/or FSX2022 !?!? (name pending). It certainly looks a lot like a Unity style of graphics.

I don't think this is the Unity update. To me, it looks like the difference between a blurry photo in 1080p vs a crisp snapshot of a 4K image on a monitor. When I upgraded my system to 4K (both monitor and projector), this was basically the difference in graphics quality in my opinion.

I did take the snip off the 1440p youtube off my 1440p monitor, but your point is very fair.
I still feel like I can see different objects and lighting models tho. Time will tell.

I agree with the above comment, if this is what the upgrade looks like, then there will be a lot of unhappy people.

I wouldn't be unhappy with any graphics improvement. I feel like I am more likely to be unhappy with the pricing model. :-)

We will see FSX Play by the end of the year. I hear it will not fully integrated until Q4 of 2022. They do plan releasing some of it in a month or so
. This will, include the version that uses unity 2020. I have seen a few images of the courses but they were in development so hard to say how much better they will be but switching to unity 2020 gives them the ability to make them as good as TM. it will be up to the course designer though and how good they are in that aspect.

I feel like they are missing a great opportunity to let the community make a bunch of courses in this engine. However it would go against their historic choices.

I wonder if they will put all the camera integration and metric data in this as well, or if they keep all that separate in FSX Pro.

Thanks. I will double check but I think cameras are staying. A lot of features, settings, etc. are missing or disabled in this preview version.

Lets hope they do get that integration for cameras in and improved for higher FPS options.

Love how they have the Quad graphic at the bottom. I think that really adds to the immersion. I have a GC3 on order, so I hope they update that graphic for whichever monitor you're on and especially switch it around correctly for left and right handers!!

FSX PLAY with GC3 launch monitor is a modified version based on FSX2020, which can be understood as an earlier version of FSX, including fsxplay fsxfitting fsxrange

No, GC3 will work with FSX 2020 until Play is released. As of right now Gc3 will not work with this preview version but will soon. I have a GC3 unit coming and when it is ready can demo with it. But, all FSX 2020 license holders will be able to use Play with their license, that is verified already.
