  • iVCam won't work with GC3

I downloaded iVCam (paid version) to my desktop and have been attempting to use my iphone 13 to record my swing face on, but no matter what I do it only starts capturing my swing right after shaft parallel on my downswing.

I have my GC3 connected via USB with wifi turned off, and my iphone connected to my computer through a usb-c port.

Does anyone know why this is happening? Is the usb-c port not fast enough? I saw on iVCam's website that I was supposed to download iTunes, but I never did and my phone still connects to my computer fine.

Do I need to change something in the settings of my actual phone?

Did you ever get this figured out? I'd love to use a couple of iPhones for Swing Catalyst cameras if possible, and was thinking of IVCam as an option.

I think you'll have to install iTunes in order to get IVCam to work correctly. I had issues when I initially tried to use IVCam, the only solution I found was to install iTunes.

Interesting. I haven't tried it on a Mac, but I have it running with FSX on PC. I wish it would do >60 FPS.

vader14 Yes you were correct. I downloaded iTunes to my comp in March and it’s been working like a charm ever since.

I also have been able to get 60 fps by using IVCam in USB mode.

Also, not sure if this is real ir in my head, but it seems like when I put my phone in slow mo mode before opening up the IVCam app and hooking everything up, it cuts way down on the blurring of the club. I’ll post a video to show you what I mean.

Just as an update - it was in my head. Turns out I adjusted the exposure the one day when I was messing with the settings in IVCam to get the quality of video I got.

On another note, the quality of footage you can get from an iPhone 13 after adjusting the exposure is incredible. Honestly seems like it's on par with some of these $550 swing cams they try to get you to buy. I just wish I had a second one now.

I bought two cams from china thinking it was all about FPS, but now I don't think that is the case at all.

I think it has something to do with the "sensor" in the phone, but when I turn down the exposure on my iphone 13 there is almost no blurring of the clubhead at all even at 60 fps.

I tried to upload a video but the forum won't let me upload an MP4 and I don't feel like going through the hassle of creating an account to upload it elsewhere and link the URL.

dinospumoni - sounds great, but would love to see that video. Can you try uploading again, or place it on YouTube?

Sure. I'll upload it later this evening. I also got my old Iphone 6s working and while it's not as good as the 13, it's still wayy better than the high FPS chinese cameras I purchased.
