    Using laptop as dual screen

Anyone out there have success using a laptop screen as the second screen in fsx2020 dual monitor mode? I use a 65” TV as the main screen and want to then use the laptop as secondary but there is no option to select it on the settings screen. Here is what i have done:

    - connect TV via hdmi
    - in windows display settings confirm that both monitors show up as connected, and select “extend displays”
    - Go to fsx2020 settings and tick the dual screen mode checkbox, hit apply.
    - Nothing happens, i don’t get the dual screen tab added in as on some videos i watched.

interestingly, if i connect a third monitor to the laptop, i can get this all to work with the tv and third monitor as the dual setup…but never can get the laptops built in monitor to show as an option.

If anyone has gotten then setup to work would appreciate advice. Will call foresight as well.

Try it first with the display settings selection set as "Duplicate" rather than "extend". Do they both display it with "Duplicate" selected? If so, when selecting "extended" do you need to drag the FSX window to the "extended" display?

figured it out. My TV is 4k and NVIDIA was setting the resolution to 4K…went into nvidia settings and lowered the resolution to 1080p, and voila, it’s all working now. only thing that i can think of is that with the tv taking up so much graphics bandwidth, maybe the laptop screen was not operating at a high enough resolution to be recognized? Or, maybe it’s just fsx2020 just didn’t like the 4k setting for the TV and it caused strange behavior? Who knows?
