  • FSX Play - Bug Tracking Thread

    Hi All,,

Please use this thread to track all known bugs and issues. Please try to give as much detail as possible.

    First few I’ve noticed:

    Paris Range

    - Ball flight not reflecting LM numbers. Eg LM says 175 carry. FSX play shows ball landing circa 165, rolling out to 174. Figures on FSX play screen say 175 carry, 174 total (i.e. so ball should be spinning back, but its clearly rolling out 10 yards or so)

    - Descent angles in the analysis table are totally wrong on screen. Regularly getting 0 degrees, or 358.5 degrees.

    On course

    - Number of short chips stopping dead on first bounce, where first bounce is short of green, on fringe or even on the green

  • Mini-map should have graphics like this screenshot. Does this happen on all courses and the driving ranges?

    • Not sure why i keep thinking this is going to get better but never does. So the aim line is supposed to move with your ball so no matter where you put the back the aim line will be perfect. Well, when i have my ball in the center it’s lined up but if i move my ball left the line moves 6 inches further left then where my balls is. If i move my ball to the right the aim line move about 8-9 inches to the right of where the new location of my ball.

I am seeing this as well. I sent Foresight pictures and a video showing how much the aiming line moves. I told them this never happened before. They said this was what the program was designed to do. Go to help.foresight sports.com and fill out their forum. They also told me, the more people complained about a an issue, the more attention it gets

    • About 2 or 3 days ago I posted about my mini map being blank. ENadeau posted a pic of how it should look. I am attaching a pic of mine. Has anyone go an idea about this?

I am having the same issue, amongst a long list of others. I have been in contact with Foresight about the multitude of issues this program has since their latest update. They know of the issues and keep promising that a new update is imminent. Been hearing that for the last couple weeks and it is pretty much unusable for anything other than the range. Getting close to requesting my money back..

    • In the past two days I’ve had full crashes on the latest FSX Play version. Both have come at the end of 18 holes rounds after selecting the “X” to close out the final scorecard. There’s a quick box that pops up with a Unity error message but it’s quick and I have yet to capture the exact message/code.

This only happens after a full round is complete. If I bring up the scorecard mid-round there is no issue and I can exit a round without a crash.

      • Not sure if this is an FSX issue or HDMI, but I recently built my Sim and during play the projector will go to black for a few seconds and then come back on. The FSX software on computer is showing on the screen fine. This started happening more the longer I was playing. I have a New BenQ LK936ST connected using a 35 foot HDMI cord I bought from Monoprice. I didnt want to start messing around in the BIOS of the Computer.. Bought I bought that refurbished and have a window on a return. Any advice would be appreciated.

On the surface, sounds like a video driver issue or resource issue with GPU or RAM. I would try (in order):
          1. reload drivers for your video card
          2. check to make sure you are not maxing out your RAM (you don't say how much RAM you have)
          3. get your Power Supply tested (how many watts do you have?)
If these do not work, please post back with the model and specs of your PC and let us know which version of FSX (Play/2020) etc. you are using.

Checked my RAM and I have 32GB (31.2 GB Usable)
I disconnected HDMI and reattached and seems to be working. I only tested on driving range where scenes do change,

bigger issue now is I can't create my own Resolution. I get the message [custom resolution 2865 x 2160 at 60hz (32-bit] is not supported by your display]

I see this occasionally and it has happened a few times recently. I too have Monoprice HDMI cable I'm not a 100% sure is that great. Everytime it happens it comes back fairly quickly. In the past there were times I'd have to unplug and re-plugin the HDMI cable to get image back. Seems to be accociated with attempts to run at the very highest resulotion i can. Annoying? Yes but not the end of the world.
