    Upgrade to GC3 from GC2?

I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to upgrade from GC2 to GC3. I've had the GC2 and FR1 software for a while now and I've got tons of courses. I mostly use it for practice though. I often just pick a random hole and hit irons from different distances at a pin or just go to a tee and hit drives. I really don't like putting on the sim so I rarely play actual golf on it and if I do I use the auto putt.

I do think it would be nice to get the upgraded software and I like that you get club path with the GC3 but I'm not sure if I can justify the upgrade or not. Has anyone recently upgraded from GC2 to GC3 and have any thoughts or comments?

I could be wrong, but isn't a used HMT more or less the price difference between selling GC2 and buying a new GC3 with applicable taxes?

You get access to FSX Play but the HMT has more metrics than you can get on the newer unit and it doesn't sound like you do many simulated rounds.

I made the switch from gc2 to gc3. I did look into just adding the HMT as bubbtubbs pointed out for similar price upgrade. I just felt the newer technology with not having to worry about changing out a flash or having an LED ring on the HMT needing service was the way to go. Others may want that extra club data but for me, it was fine with the added "peace of mind". So far, the unit has treated me well with no regrets. Best of luck in your choice.

I don’t think you’d be disappointed. I got one of the first ones shipped and have no regrets. Sucks that it won’t work with TGC but it’s been so long now I’m kinda used to FSX2020 and Play.
