  • GC2 Bluetooth

Purchased a GC2 secondhand and I am unable to get Bluetooth to work. I have tried leaving the GC2 usb cable unplugged/plugged in, and I am never able to get the GC2 to be detected. I had it about 2 feet away from my computer and cell phone and neither device can see the GC2.

Was there a version of the GC2 that did not have bluetooth? Or is this a faulty unit? Any other suggestions?

Try an external USB dongle like the ASUS bt 500.

      Yes.

I don't remember the model designation but I have one that doesn't have Bluetooth. You used to be able to send the unit to Foresight and they would install whatever is missing
I never bothered since in my setup the GC2 is right next to the computer and easily connected with a USB cable

Not mine with a ser no 2100 or so. Was told by Foresight if I wanted Bluetooth I would have to send the unit in for modification.

I had a 2501 non A model and it's bt worked fine. If you wanted it to work with an iPad you needed to send it to foresight to have the bt upgraded to A. It had non apple compatible Bluetooth. I used it with TGC2019 using ASUS bt dongle no problem.

Sounds like you have a faulty unit. Foresight would upgrade it to A.

I ended up getting a BT500 dongle and managed to get it to connect to the GC2 I had. I am not sure that the dongle had anything to do with the fix, but rather messing around with the device manager in Windows. There were hidden bluetooth installations in device manager that needed to be deleted and for whatever reason that allowed the GC2 to be seen and connected to.

I have 5 bt dongles that don't work. ASUS BT500 is the best single imo.
You have to turn off internal bt and sometimes windows updates will turn internal back on.
        Working...
