FSX Play Course Loading Time

Similar to my other post, just now trying out Play after using 2020 for the last month with 2020 working great to date. Have tried to launch a few different courses in Play but it seems to get stuck when the course is loading. I've waited 3-4 minutes a few times with no results before I killed it. So far I haven't gotten anything to successfully load. Before I reach out to FS Tech support thought I'd check here to see if the initial load on each course takes a long time (more than my 3-4 mins of waiting so far) and I just need to be more patient... or if this seems odd and the course should have loaded in that amount of time. I've been using FSX Play now for about 2 months but have not had that issue.

Only a thought but make sure you have most current version? I know a few courses have been updated since launch. Again might not be a factor but just throwing it out there.

How do you know if you have to most recent version of a course?

You have to cross reference the version you have installed vs the version available for download. Everyone wishes it was an automatic process including me but its not currently.

Maybe safe to say that anything prior to this morning is an older version. Spent time with FS Tech Support remote accessing my system this afternoon and he noted that they just put out a new release 7 hrs ago to address a number of things. Speculated that my specific issue was a glitch in the initital install where the software didn't get fully loaded and then just kept getting hung up. Either way, support I received today was great. Spent time not only helping me get up and running with Play but then walking me throgh a number of different things like room config, tips/tricks to get wifi to run - which isn't straight forward, etc. Very pleased. Do expect that Play will continue to be a work in progress. He mentioned that the release this morning specifically helps to make navigation much more user friendly but it's not quite yet where 2020 is. Also noted that the Paris range stinks which y'all proabably already know... I just hadn't tried it yet. Suggested just going to hole 1 at La Jolla (Torrey) where the tee shot gives you 300 yards straight away and use that as the range... mentioned that they should be getting the 2020 range into Play in the near term.
