  • Will a US GC2 work OK in the UK

    Hi
I am looking at some ebay GC2 from America and was wondering if they will work OK in the UK. They are half the price of our second hand ones. Would there be any problems with updating software etc.

How would the GC2 know it's in Europe? Others have done it before you.

I had my mate take a brand new GC2 home for me from the USA to the UK.
There is no difference, other than it comes with a US power lead.
All you need to do is get a standard figure 8 style power lead (same as on a Sky HD box)... which will cost you about £1 from Maplin.

Beware of import tax if getting it sent over though. On something that expensive, the tax will be a LOT!

Interesting thread.. All the GC2s on the US Ebay are over 3K!! Havent seen the UK costs for the same yet. I agree Import tax will be the killer. I once got a 3iron from Golfsmith US and Fedex took about 50 quid on top!! (worse, havent used that club for more than 5 rounds before binning it)

Unfortunately the golf simulator 'scene' is pretty much non existent in the UK, and as a result no-one sells used equipment over here. GC2's are pretty much only bought by golf pros and club fitters. If you want to buy a new one over here you're looking at over £5000 + VAT!!
