Swing Catalyst and FSX 2020/Play Integration

Can someone using Swing Catalyst with FSX 2020 and Play confirm how SC integrates with FSX 2020 and Play please ?
What I am interested in is if the video capture plays back automatically after a swing and then returns to the range view after playback like it does in FSX 2020 or do you have to have SC running separately and then locate the file to play it back.
I asked Foresight support but unbelievably they do not know.

I just got the demo and tested mainly to see if cams work
or contact SC directly, they seem good on tech support

The two programs are not integrated at all, they will simply just work side by side.

When I want it, I will have 2020 on my left screen and projector screen, and then have swing cat on my right screen. It does capture and play automatically and range never leaves the left/projector.

What you are getting is a significant cost savings by having FSX vs the regular cost of the SC software and that is a deal between FS and SC.

Thanks Baller, thats what I needed to know. So you have 2 monitors and projector screen, I might look into that configuration, currently I have 1 monitor and projector but can see the benefits of your setup. Thanks again for the reply.

Yes, exactly. It really works well, imo. I have my computer on the right side of my screen and so my left monitor and my screen are cloned and show the same thing, and then the right monitor has SC or it could have the dual screen of fsx.

I try running fsx2020 and swing catalyst concurrently but the mouse starts lagging pretty heavily when I try to click around and rewatch my video. Fsx2020 seems to hog all the CPU resources. It’s a new computer with a high end i7 processor. Any tips on getting these to run more smoothly? Fsx2020 is output to a tv, swingcatalyst to a monitor.

Can you link the PC that you purchased?

It’s a new computer. I7, rtx 3060, 32gb of ram. I turned down all the graphics on fsx2020 and it seems to run much better simultaneously now

This may or may not help your issue but one thing you might check is how SC is doing the video encoding, my default setting was to my CPU so it was using my CPU to render video initially so if you have FSX using so much CPU resources and SC trying to render using the Intel Quicksync then I can see you might have some performance issues, There is setting where you can switch the rendering to using your graphics card which is what you want and it will render much faster. Here is a link to give a better explanation: https://support.swingcatalyst.com/hc...dware-encoding
