  • FSX Pro -v 1.5.6 takes FOREVER to launch

I use FSX Pro extensively for range sessions and recently upgraded to 1.5.6 from 1.5.4.1. When I launch the program now, the FSX logo appears after 10 seconds and from there it takes ANOTHER 1.5mins before the program launches to where you can start to hit shots. And the ball flight graphics now is quite jittery compared to the smooth graphics the prior version had and the ball flight I see still see today in FSX Play and FSX 2020 (both of which are also the most current versions). Under the prior version, it would take 15 seconds to launch the program and be able to hit shots.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled this a few times - it has not fixed the issue. I also uninstalled and tried to install prior versions but those won't work anymore (gets stuck at the EULA screen which was a bug they noted and fixed in this release - LOL the irony). Has anyone experienced similar issues? any ideas? all the other Foresights programs (Play, FSX 2020) launch fast and have no graphics issues. I would really like to get something sorted here as I find FSX Pro great for range sessions vs. the other FSX options but taking this long to load is not bearable. and the graphics aren't smooth.

this comment from the release notes could be a reason for the long load times - "Retained Database Files From v1.5.4.7 & Encrypted When First Launching v1.5.6" - perhaps its trying to encrypt the database file EACH time I load this?

any help or ideas is appreciated. I have sent a msg to Foresight so hopefully they have an idea...
    thanks!

Just closing the loop on my original post. Foresight did a few remote sessions with my computer and they have now fixed the issue. They essentially deleted some log files that had my previous sessions recorded in them and that fixed the problem. I was quite pleased with the support levels from Foresight on this.
