I currently have FSX Play with the RTX 3070ti video card and was thinking about changing my projector to a 4K. In doing so, I was going to upgrade to a RTX 3080ti. I am only smart enough to understand simple things that I see or read. With what I am reading, and without getting too technical, the RTX3070ti will not be enough to handle the 4K monitor and maybe the same holds true for the RTX 3080ti. Not sure I want to spend the money on anything more expensive. Thanks for your help.

The RTX 3080ti will work great for running 4K graphics on any golf sim software. I have used this same graphics card on the BenQ TK700STI and LK936ST and the image quality is amazing.

So if I read this correctly, the RTX 3080Ti is better with the 4k projector running the FSX Play. If i wanted to stay at 1080, there isn't a need to up grade? Correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, that would be my expectation. That said, FSX Play does use more resources than one expects so even at 1080 you may get better results. I have a 2080Super and I cannot run full graphics on Play.

I have a 3080ti with FSX Play at max settings. I only run at 1080p, but I get over 60 fps on all courses. I would guess that you will achieve at least 30 fps at 4k. You could always lower the graphics setting a bit if need be.
