GC3 / Carl's Wiring setup

This is probably a bit of a dumb question but having a hard time visualizing the wiring and knowing the best connections for my garage build. I'm thinking of putting a spare TV in the garage at first to make sure I like it before throwing down for the projector.

- For the TV Setup, I guess I would just have the computer/keyboard/mouse right below the TV off on a wall.
- For this, would you run an ethernet from the GC3 to the Computer or would wireless be an option?
- For a projector setup where the projector is on the floor, you would run a HDMI or something similar from projector to your computer.
- With a projector, do most people setup a keyboard and mouse on a stand near the mat? I guess it could be wireless and you could place it anywhere?
- Any other thoughts on where it is best to place the keyboard and mouse and computer in relation to the hitting mat?

I went through this exact process you are going through and I lasted about one year with a TV before I went to a projector. I'd say just save the money your spend on all the tv stuff and go the projector route. Its awesome. I have a tv stand a net and a hitting mat that I bought and never use since I went to a projector. So just a waste of money. I can shoot you photos if you what the tv stand looked like but the 2MB max on this website would let me upload.

- For the TV Setup, I had a TV stand and the laptop was just below the stand. You will definitely want to use the USB-C connection because that your best chance to have the ball instantly launch on the screen when you hit it. Orhterwise there may be a second delay
- For a projector do what ever you can to get the projector mounted on the ceiling and a short throw so you will never see the shadow of you head in on the screen. I have a wireless keyboard with a trackpad that works really when I put it on a little wall mounted shelf that hold it at about 25 degrees. You'll end up using the track pad and the left and right arrows the most.

Thanks for the info. That makes sense about the TV vs projector. I assume you had someone run a cable through the ceiling/wall to connect to computer?

What projector did you get? I think I just want 1080,not 4k

I have concrete slab in my garage that is rather cool in the winter and i never would park a car in there. I putt high density jujitsu gym mats on the floor then cut a small box to lay the Fiberbuilt hitting strip down into the mat. It set up so that I’m actually standing on the jujitsu mat when hitting. Works awesome because you get plenty on traction with just normal sports shoes on. No one has to bring golf shoes when they play. The top of the fiberbuilt hitting strip is about 3mm higher then the mats so putts roll over a perfect
transition. I run the USB-C cable and the power cord to the GCQUAD under the mats. The foam mats are really easy to cut through so i turned them over then just cut a small channel for the cables so the mats will still sit flat on the floor.

I suggest you do whatever you can to run wireless from the unit to the computer.

The flexibility is better, especially when moving the device around a hitting mat to prevent isolated wear, and to accommodate players of the opposite hand.

This is a good point if you have friends that hit left handed. I basically told all my left friends (all 2 of them) that my house is not for them.
