  • Foresight Course Location Disparity

I was looking at the course offerings for FSXPlay and wondering why there are so many course on the list I’ve haven't heard of before. I scanned the list and it seems like Illinois and Pennsylvania are crazy favorites. I imagine these are so heavy in two areas because the Foresight executives live in these areas or the software developers do. Really surprised there aren’t any courses from Flordia, Arizona and Hawaii on the list where there are so many great courses there plus these are top destinations for golf getaways.

    Illinois - 14
    Pennsylvania - 13
    Fantasy - 10
    California - 6
    Ontario - 5
    New York - 5
    Nebraska - 4
    Minnesota - 3
    Indiana - 3
    Oklahoma - 2
    Texas - 2
    North Dakota - 2
    Oregon - 2
    Maryland - 2
    Michigan - 2
    Iowa - 2
    Connecticut - 1
    North Carolina - 1
    South Carolina - 1
    Missouri - 1
    Ohio - 1
    Georgia - 1
    Montana - 1
    Wisconsin - 1

    United Kingdom - 6
    China - 3
    Spain - 1
    Netherlands - 1
    Switzerland - 1
    Nova Scotia - 2

I believe many of the courses you don't know are due to Foresight promising to create the course as part of an equipment purchase. So... buy our Quads/Hawks etc for your facility and we'll include your course.

I’m actually surprised they don’t have more Southern California courses since they are based out of San Diego. Aviara, The Grand, The Bridges, Barona, Pechanga, Maderas. Torrey Pines North would be cool. Palm Desert has a bunch a great tracks. Rivera in LA could easily be a $250 course.

The lack of Hawaii courses does bum me out. I would love to see Kapalua or something similar. I live outside of Philly. Many of the "higher end" private courses in the area are available in FSX 2020/Play. I have played a few of them for real and own them for FSX 2020. I love them all. Aronimink, Merrion, Commonwealth National, North Hills Country Club, to name a few.

Who knows? Those two areas have a lot of "premiere courses" that have hosted large tour events.

Around 100 of the courses in the library are user-made from the old Red Chain software days that Foresight purchased and then ported to the different FSX versions. As Neepster said Foresight will build a course to get the course to buy Foresight launch monitors. I know my local courses in the FSX library have Foresight sim bays. I thought I saw a Foresight advertisement that offered to build a new course but the cost was thousands of dollars.

Kapalua is on E6 software.....which incorporates pretty easily into the quad. Also another 90+ courses. But yes I agree that foresight should be doing more of this.
