    Simulation Software

About a year ago I purchased used a GC2, the at the time recommended PC and graphics card to run it, the fitting/club comparison etc. software and the Foresight software to play Pebble Beach, Spyglass, Torrey Pines South, Firestone, Olympic, The Belfrey, La Tempete and Turnberry..

What is it I would get besides more courses by purchasing something like Protree?

I primarily use the Gc2/cage/projector etc. for practice during the winter months. From March to December I'm out on the real grass.

If you're already invested in GC2, then stick with it. If you feel you need more courses, then consider getting Protee software only, and the ability to play TGC courses.

Your deep into Foresight software which is expensive in my opinion. If you want more courses, online play and tournament play then get Protee TGC.

All the stuff I listed came with the deal. The price was less then a new stand alone GC2.

Is all I would get with Protee software more courses? Does it have any features the Foresight software does not have excluding on line play? I ask because the amount and type of courses I now have are more then sufficient for my purposes. In order to take advantage of any better resolution graphics I probably would need a new projector and computer or external graphics card. The Foresight recommendations for their FST software are not compatible with my current setup, and since moving bits is moving bits no matter what the software, I would think Protee or any other software that improves the resolution would have similar requirements.

Probably no new features other than online play and great graphics. If your happy then save your money and stay as you are. To do it right with TGC you need a great graphics card and HD projector. The graphics are stunning and there are thousands of courses. TGC will allow for tournament play and online play.

I'm new to the forum and trying to read through a lot of these posts. I'm about to purchase a used GC2a, and debating on which software to go with. It looks as though protee and TGC are the way to go, however I've been struggling to find anywhere online that will just sell the protee software. Is it just a matter of calling them? I've also seen some comments that suggest Foresight may be trying to eliminate the compatibility with the protee software through updated firmware. Anybody know if they actually shut that down, or is it still working fine? Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

Bucky, Swingsense sells the ProTee & TGC software combination online. GC2 still works with ProTee and TGC, so no changes from Foresights firmware yet. It seems to me the demand for TGC is actually helping them sell units, so I'm not sure if they care, even though they may be taking a small hit on software.

Caught a post of GolfWrx on how ProTee is no longer selling TGC software for use with a GC2, I notice they now only offer their ProTee software for sale (1890.00). Can that be used with a GC2 thru a gameing Windows PC? Is the TGC software available any other source? I have a line on a GC2 with no software, presume I can download the needed version as discussed in another thread here, but would like the TGC sim software or something even halfway comparable.............thanks for any thoughts or input/...........and especially options.

TGC is available from Protee but it still works with GC2. My understanding is they no longer promote its use which is likely due to legalities. Contact Protee.
