  • GCQUAD Vertical Impact Position

Anyone notice that the GCQUAD appears to register vertical impact as low on the face? Maybe it is just my swing, but even on good strikes it is always low.

If you lower the horizontal line of fiducials it will register higher. You can get away with that on mid irons but wedges need that separation due to the loft being greater.

Wizard is spot on, the reflective dots establish "zero", so they will report the numbers where the ball strikes the clubface relative to the markers. Foresight says the 2 height markers on irons should be marked between the 6th & 7th groove, drivers are marked halfway on the vertical measurement of the clubface. As Wizard said, on higher lofted clubs, say 9 irons & up, the fiducials have to be placed a little higher on the clubface in order for the GCQ to read them. (I've also found it helpful to move the ball a little closer to the top of the placement zone, closer to the GCQ, in order to get a good read on the face.)

A test you could try would be to buy some of those impact stickers, slap them on the clubface and hit a few balls and, relative to your club face dots, see if you are getting numbers that make sense with the impact position on the clubface sticker.
