I struggle the first time too. When adding players you must select "team play" or whatever on the bottom then move player into which team. Then when you setup round you can select scramble or best ball.

What I have found, you can slide names from the favorite list into team 1 but it will not let you slide names from the favorites onto team 2. Names for team 2 have to be typed in. At least that is what it is doing to me

I have no problem sliding names from one team to another. You can add from favorite list as well.

Given how often it fails to keep the correct score when I'm playing w/ multiple people I'd like think that would be a higher priority than team play but what do I know.

Spent a little time with the new team features tonight. I think the true test of any software should be can you gamble while playing and know there won’t be any funky things going on that will ruin all the bets and there are definitely funky things going on here. I played a 4 man scramble two people on each team. Things started out positive. I like that you can chose your team best shot before the last teammate leaves the mat rather then waiting for everyone to hit. Would be nice if the minimap showed both balls but how it is is acceptable. What was messed up is the software glitched and our green side chip was marked as being in a hazard and made me drop even though i was able to drop directly on the green. With a penalty of course.

I also tried to do a best ball match with two guys on each team but there is no way to handicap the match. WTH? I understand they probably are thinking it’s just a stroke play best ball instead of match play best ball but even a stroke play best ball needs to be handicapped. If nothing else it would completely speed up the pace of play if a ball was automatically picked up when their ball is out of the hole. Maybe an option button for an automatic pick up when you’re out of the hole. If my partner is getting a stroke on the hole and makes a par there’s no need for me to putt just move to the next hole.

Can foresight please hire a software project manager that is good at golf and understands how people normally play team games.

I too encountered being in a water hazard when barely in the rough between holes. I don't get it. They really need to hire a team that can handle these projects because fsx play has all the upside in the world if they would just make it work. Years of frustration and yet here we are.

How do you know when a new version is available???

I was on FSX Play for the first time in a long time last night. I saw nothing about a new version or update.
Is there something I'm missing ?

Well next month is coming up one FSXPLAY one year anniversary and i think there’s been 3 updates possibly 4 seems like every quarter they put one out but most updates seem to add new features instead of fixing core issues. It’s definitely gotten better each time but still can’t play your buddies for $20 if your ball gets stuck in a bush with no way out and no way to drop or rehit from the previous spot.

Foresight should ashamed of themselves for this release. Scramble mode is 100% unplayable. About every 4th shot, when you select your ball, it will pull up the penalty option to drop or rehit. It happened in the middle of the fairway. It happened on a green. It will then go to another random ball of another player you didn’t select and make you play from there. We bailed after 9 holes at like plus 25 for a 4 man scramble. Are you kidding me?

Scramble mode is essential for garage golf and players of various skill levels. I was so exited this got released, so I invited 3 friends over. I spent the evening apologizing to them about something that cost me $7500.

Not only am I a long time golfer, I am a long time gamer. I have Beta tested countless titles and never seen software as bad as this. Foresight needs to fire everyone in the damn building and hire some competent programmers.

Has anybody been successful in getting course refunds? I bought a handful of courses when I bought this over Christmas and feel like the biggest sucker on the planet. I had my complaints about E6 Connect and my SkyTrak, but at least it worked. Shameful doesn’t even begin to describe it.

StanMI I was not excited that they don't notify with emails to existing customers on releases or at least have a release schedule that gets updated. I took matters into my own hands and found a web browser plugin that can target specific areas of websites and check for changes. Whenever a new course is added then it sends me an email. If they update the software it will send me one as well. The plugin is called Distill Web Monitor. This is for Google Chrome. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...ehgadgge?hl=en

Since I've been using the plugin they have added 3 courses for FSX play

Several updated versions of courses and a few new courses added

I installed the FSX Play Version 1.5.0.3 back in Jan 2023 and half the trees in Pebble Beach turned yellow. I rolled back to the previous version and PB worked fine. I saw they just updated the courses including Pebble. Hoping this fixes the yellow tree issue. Curious if anyone else had this issue.

Yes had thread on it. It seemed to fix my issues and newer courses seem to have slightly different look. The white colors tend to "glow" a bit more. That said overall they look great.

Does anyone know if they post release notes on versions and course versions? Would be nice to know what they change.

After reading the posts and seeing the list of updated courses LivT0golf provided,(Thank you by the way), more than half of my courses needed updating. I made the mistake of relying on Foresight to do this on FSX Play. That’s another discussion at another time. Anyway, I made a list of all my courses along with the update numbers. Now I will check my list and compare it to the Foresight list to see if any of my courses need updating. A lot of work but it will be worth it.

Just load FSX Play and go to courses like you are selecting course to play. The version of course is visible there for sure.

Go figure, I went to my courses and there was an update for Linfield National. That was my first notice of a course update in months. Now I’m really confused.
