Here's an email I sent to Foresight today - pending response. Sharing here to get thoughts:

As you can see from the photo the key data is:

    Push/Pull - 0.8 L
    Spin Axis - 32.2 R
    Side Spin - 1105 RPM L
    Offline - 54.2 L
Club Path - 0.2 Out to In

I've shared this with a golf pro to make sure I have the physics of golf correct and he was also confused.

As I understand 0.8 L is fairly close to neutral, and a club path of 0.2 Out to In again is also pretty much neutral. So my question is, why has it created a shot shape that is quite a significant hook/draw (54 yards left)?

Additionally the spin axis is "R" but the side spin is 1105 L - as show in the picture?

If I was to guess what stats would make this shot shape, I would have predicted a "Push/Pull" number quite similar (slightly closed face) and a fairly in to out swing path of around 4.0/5.0 in to Out - certainly not out to in as what it shows.

your side spin and back spin are both about the same ...that is a big snap hook

so your path was right at the target but your face was closed a lot to the target

the push pull number was the ball path not the club club face

you do not have a face number (face to path) on the screen

on the quad you can see face to path and face to target ..

Face to path and face to target data would help solve the mystery. Likely both closed.

I dont think they are the same, the back spin is about 50% more than the side spin.

Also - for the ball to generate that much side spin, I would need to be coming across the ball inside to out - not outside to in. What am I missing?

What I fail to understand is how coming *out* to *in* can create left to right spin.

It's the relationship between club face and path that creates the sidespin. I bet you had a face that was closed to path by about 4-5 degrees on this one or maybe your were only 2 degrees off but hit it way out on the toe. In respect to the ball direction the most important numbers to have on your screen are
          1) Path
          2) Face to Target or Face to Path (this is preference) you could have both showing.
          3) Where did the ball hit the face.

As stated, that amount of side spin is a big hook. The shot is a pull hook (ball starts left of target) because of your path. With that path and the face-to-path closed, this is what you get. You do not need to come from the inside in order to hook the ball.

The ball starts on the screen left of the target line, which would indicate that your club face was closed to target. This supports what the others are trying to say.

Plus we have no idea of strike. All these number can change based on strike. Clubface likely significantly closed but toe strike started it close to target line then amplified hook. I know this from my own swing. Also any side spin above 1000 is going to be unplayable on course. You can use a light amount of power foot spray to check strike and until strike is consistent you'll be chasing other thing that wont fix the problem. Strike is king above almost anything else.

As for the Right spin axis reading it should be Left. I put the same numbers in the shot simulator and got the results below:

I've actually never seen this. There is a place we can just enter numbers and the computer will simulate the shot shape? How do I find this? I see there is a foresight logo on this but I swear I have never known there is a place I can enter my own hypothetical numbers. Please tell me how to get there.

one thing I have found in FSX2020 - the Spin Axis always says R on the on-screen column setting even when the spin axis is left. I have a consistent draw / hook ball flight and my spin Axis on FSX2020 always says R but in fact the GCQ says left. I have captured photos showing this error on my unit from the same shot - see below.
