  • Is it me or my GC3

When playing on my sim my 3 wood and driver are slicing, a lot. Irons are fine but I can’t hit it left to save my life with a wood. The only reason I’m asking about my setup is because I played indoor on a trackman last night and did not have any slices with my driver or three wood and I hit close to 30 balls with those clubs. I just did my room configuration again with hopes that it would remedy the situation but no luck.

My club data says my path out to in 3.4 degrees and my AoA is down 6.6. I know coming out to in and hitting down on it will cause a slice but because I did not have this on Trackman last night and because it is not happening with my irons I’m hoping someone has some advice for me. My ball data says my side angle is 3.4 degrees right and it was offline right by 39 yards. I don’t have a slice with my fairway in real life either. I in fact fight a snap hook with it. If there is any advice to be shared it is much appreciated.

    Thank you,

Any chance that your sim setup is new and that you do not have unlimited width? And simultaneously that the Trackman was either outside or in a larger space?

My thought is that if it feels (even subconsciously) that you have restricted room to swing, this would be most exaggerated with driver and 3 wood, and could easily cause a steeper and over the top / out to in path.

If usually you’re outside (playing irl) and the trackman is in a larger area it could explain why you do not see the issue at those times.

I experienced indoor sim swing issues when I first built mine and I know it’s a common issue.

Just a thought depending on your setup

Yes, I’m guessing that is what it is but was hoping for something else. This is my second winter and i don’t recall it being this much of an issue last year but I’m guessing that is what it is. I’ll get someone to film me and see if that is the answer. Thanks for the quick reply!

Whilst it’s frustrating, I think it will be quicker to solve than a technical issue! I found that after a handful of sessions it was pretty much eliminated. If you didn’t have issues before, I’m sure you can get back to swinging “normally”! Good luck!
