GC2 battery replacement

Hi!

Does anybody know a source for a third party battery for the GC2? Foresight won't sell it to me unless I send the GC2 to them and I doen't want to do that.

Any other ideas?

Take it to a Battery Plus store or similar retailer. They will rebuild it for a lot less then Foresight charges.Last time I got mine rebuilt ti was under $30. You can also buy the cells and do it yourself but by the time you get the cells and some shrink wrap it may be cheaper to let the store do it.

I live in Germany and I don't think we have stores like that over here unfortunatly.

Edit: I found online stores that will repair batteries. I will give it a try!

So I received the invoice now and they charged 100GBP for the battery and 20GBP for the shipping. Of course I will have to pay taxes on that because of brexit...

I was able to make my own battery after finding 4/3 FA 4500Mah batteries locally. They wanted a bit to much to rebuild so I picked up a portable spot welder and made the battery in about 15 minutes.

You could solder instead.

Hey folks….

It’s been a long time since I posted on here, as it’s a long time since I played golf on my sim. Must be about 18+ months now.

Anyway - I’m resurrecting this thread, as I’ve taken my GC2 out of its case, and unsurprisingly the battery is dead. It still works on power, however it’s much tidier without wires.

I’m in the UK, and wondering if anyone has a solution to getting a new battery (without involving Foresight)? I’d rather buy a pre-made one, but have the facilities at work to make up my own one if I knew exactly what I needed.

Also, is there a tutorial or manual anywhere on how to access the battery? I’ve never opened my GC2 before. I used to be an Apple engineer many years ago, so am quite comfortable opening and messing about with it.

sales@batteriesplus.co.uk can rebuild a pack. I couldn't find anyone that just sold a pack - possibly because it has a temperature sensor built into it?

I ended up ordering 6 of the cells I linked above, and made my own pack. Took about 30 mins, and worked great.
