  • Performance went to Sh**

Anyone else notice the performance on FSXPLAY get terrible over the last two weeks? My computer with RTX 3080ti that isn’t used for anything else besides golf simulation is only pushing on average 30fps now. Tried to play the 9 hole tournament on Beaver Hills and it’s completely unplayable. Usually i can run full graphics no problem and now I’m drop frames on full performance setting. I checked to see if some how my graphics card settings got changed and they are still set for FSXPLAY to take priority.

This is such a bummer continuing to see posts like this. I am considering upgrading my PC to a RTX 4080 so I can use Play and Swing Catalyst. I don't want to shell out big $$ to find out that a machine that should easily handle Play, doesn't. Sad.

I can tell you before last week i was running full graphics no problem. Maybe it was just Beaver Hills course. Anyone else try to play the tournament there? Someone try it and see if it’s laggy.

I have not seen this but will watch for it. Any chance there is a hardware glitch on the PC (doubt it - just covering off the logical questions)? Could be many things PC related (GPU Drivers update gone bad, too many background processes (does not sound like this in your case), power options reset from high performance to something more energy efficient - can be caused by a windows update, other settings being reset either from an update or ??

I agree - it is likely Play but it is worth ruling out Windows related issues first perhaps. I might even re-install Play to see if that helps if the issue does not resolve itself.

Guys - as much as I like the launch monitors, the software has frustrated me other than FSX2020 range. It has never changed and I was warned when I bought my first Foresight launch monitor regarding the software and their updates. I don't use anything from Foresight other than the original range.

When I first used Play, my pc overheated and shut down. I should clarify, the PC was part of a Foresight promo when I bought the Quad, I got a new PC from them. It is unfortunate the the experience has not been great. I Have tried just a couple times and moved on.

Hoping this new deal they signed improves things. I consider all the courses I purchased from them a waste of money. I use two different software to play courses now and the experience is much more enjoyable. Still hoping they improve the end user experience but still not sure they care after seeing the latest release of new features vs bug fixes.

I have not noticed any performance change. I am happy to be able to run Play at all with a 1070 GPU. It's not perfect, there are occasional jerks with the ball flight, but totally playable and I have not had any freezing or performance-related crashes. I wish they would get some more of my FSX 2020 courses put up there.

I think it might just be Beaver Hills. I played a couple of holes yesterday and you are correct, it is very laggy & playback stutters a lot, especially anywhere near a tree. I played a few holes on La Jolla & Broken Tree, no issues there.

I have longleaf cc for the kids tees and its is completely unplayable. I hit a 7iron 175 and it was so choppy it took 30 seconds to hit the ground. They were just selling this course in a package and it’s not even playable. I wonder if the programmers at foresight just like trolling us. Haha

I'm pretty sure we're not their target user. Their intended merger/acquisition of "the software name that won't be spoken" is perhaps an acknowledgement that they've missed the mark with FSX Play.
