So far after trying the new version I like what I see. Selecting who hits first in Team play is nice. I’ve always enjoyed the Skills Challenge for practicing so I’m glad that in there. Finally can see Club data as images in FSX Play however it needs to pop up in between shots like it did on 2020. I’m not sure if the private tourney I setup will work. If anyone wants to try the code is “AVA14” please give it a try. Being able to set these up and have competition against other friends with FSX Play will be a huge leap forward. The one try month long FSX sponsored ones are a pitiful effort on their part.

Correct. AVA14 is the code.

Agreed. Like what I see so far, I'm not basing it on any of the tourney play. Solely from a performance perspective I'm seeing more fps with my 3070 and didn't have any freezes today in the hour I played.

Lie penalty still doesn't seem to do anything, other than affect greenside bunker shots.

But on the plus side, the hole flyovers now show the correct par! Small victories!!

This has probably been asked before, but here goes anyway.........I really like FSPlay but I'm always going back to FS2020 for the swing cameras. Is the only way to get cameras in Play mean I have to also purchase Swing Catalyst ?????? And if so, has anyone done that ??? Do they run together??

I have not seen an update to make the cameras work on Play but yes I do use swing catalyst. I use a 3rd monitor to display the swing catalyst software screen as I am using FSX Play. They run as independent programs but SC pulls all all the info from the shots on play as I go. Works well IMO. That said, I wish we had the same functionality as in FSX2020. From what I have read however this does not seem to be in the cards.

Important side note, I purchased the SC from Foresight Sports, not directly from SC - I am not sure if that is essential to make it work or not.

How hard was the install???? I've seen a couple YouTube videos that make it look like I need an IT degree to do it. I am by no means computer savy.

No issues as I recall. Some tweaking to get the camera resolutions optimized but lots of on-line help to get it up and running. I would say I am IT savy but far from a tech expert.

This update fixed a problem I had with the mini map on Cran Sur Sierre. Previously the mini map showed the first hole no matter what hole i was playing. Now it works properly. There were several courses that I had to download updates for after the Play update installed. Cran Sur Sierre was one of them.

Loaded the new version today. Looks great but small problem. When I start up on a course my shot line is dead center after a very short time it shifts to the right........ I thought it was just me at first but on the second course I played I was watching the screen when it shifted.

Anybody else get this ??

Turn off ball find assist or whatever that setting is. Maybe?

The program also adjusts the aim line if your ball is not inline with the measurements programmed into the room setup. In other words, my offset is at 42", If the ball is only 40" left of midline, the program shifts about 2" to the left, but it shifts the whole aimline, not just the aiming point. The only time this really matters is when you are putting or chipping to a target on the floor, as it can make it considerably offline. If you always put the ball in the same spot on the mat and have the aimline centered on that, you'll never see the screen shift. That's at least my experience. IMO that's another unneeded tweak they could have spent the time better on something else, like not having anyone putt until everyone is on the green.

I do have the aim line centered. That's the odd part. First time the program sees the ball, aim line shifts quite a bit left (think I said right in an earlier/another post). Any thoughts on how to keep it in the center??

Well another huge update that failed to fix the glitches that make their software a disaster. Just played a test rounds 2 teams of 2 players on best ball. Let call them Players A,B,C,D Various handicaps 5, 7, 10, 15. on foresights own packaged course Blue Bayou. Hole 1 all seemed to be ok everything work and the software even picked up Player B ball when player A made a par but Player B was putting for bogey. So far so good. Hole 2 Player A hit to 15 feet, Player B short right rough, Player C hit right just off the green, Player D to 7 feet. Player A and B make par. Player C pitch in for birdie so software automatically picks up player D ball and move to the next hole. Again all good. I’m very excited at this point and am thinking i can finally have friends over to play best ball and won’t be completely embarrassed that this software is a pile of shi**. Hole 3 The screen is pointing in the opposite direction of the actual hole. Minimap will not rotate around to point the correct way so no way to see minimap layup distance. Use the keyboard left/right arrows to point the Aim line down the fairway but minimap still pointed backwards. Player C hits, Player D hits. Software moves to Player C 2nd shot. Say what?? What about player A and B? Hit Player C shot. Player D is next. Still no player A and B. Play out player C and D. Move to hole #4, screen pointed backwards again, minimap pointer the wrong way again. Player C and D play on still no Player A and B. WTF? Finish hole with only Player C and D. Check the scorecard at the end of hole and it shows Player A and B scored hole in ones on holes 3 and 4 I assume the rest of the round would continue on the same way so i quit and then realized I’m never going to have any friends over and why did i spend all this money on this. I guess I’ll go cry myself to sleep and hope in 6 months when they release another update someone will have made all these game modes work properly.

Dude, this is sad. I have not tried to play this kind of game, and Play has generally worked acceptably for me (irritating glitches yes, but nothing catastrophic) but I can totally feel your pain. You have shelled out for what should be the greatest toy money can buy, and when it doesn't work with your friends it's just embarrassing and infuriating. I'm sorry. Let's hope they get it fixed.

Very nice updates however there are still way too many bugs for me to suggest someone buying this software. I have multiple friends that have used my GC Quad setup that are in the process of determining which set up to go with and I've told them all just stick with 2020 for now if going with Foresight. Most are leaning on going another direction completely because of the frustrations around FSX's latest software. In other words they are going to lose sales and I can't be the only one seeing this.

Just recently downloaded the latest release and Foresight gave me a list of 18 courses to only play. I do have 8 of them (including Paris Practice) but the slow fix on the remaining courses is frustrating. Its also frustrating how many 2020 courses I have that are not on play yet. When I purchased play they indicated all courses would be available on play within the year. I have at least 15 that are not.

A group of four of us tried to play Real Club Valderrama on stroke play and the same bugs crept up. Any ball in the tree's/bushes completely locks the system up. When you escape and go to the save game page no curser is there to direct you to save the game. Then you have to Cont-alt-delete and exit to do anything. When you start the game up it takes you back to the previous shot and sometimes will skip a player. We also had a few normal drives show up as worm burners only going about 50 yards. Scoring was wrong and all over the place as well. We quit after 3-4 holes and went back to 2020.

i have been generally please with the Fsx Play since the new update but haven’t played the best ball or scramble. However, a couple of new issues since the new update. Longleaf is not working now. That bothers me because we waited a long time to get it on Play and it is an excellent course for older seniors. I saw it wasn’t listed as one of the recommended courses suggested to play. Also, this is strange, I booted the computer, loaded Play, went to practice and the Foresight Sports Practice Facility wasn’t there. Rebooted the computer and loaded Play again, went to practice and it was there. This has happened several times. Curious if that has happened to anyone else.

Yes, I lost the practice facility a few times, despite making it a favorite.
