  • GC3 Battery Issues

I've owned my GC3 for almost 2 years now. Use it mostly indoor but have taken it outdoors for range sessions a handful of times. When it's indoors it's connected via power adapter. I haven't been able to use it for about 5 months due to injury but finally healed up, did a firmware update (v.1.11.8.84) and took it to the range only to find the battery say 0%! It stayed on the whole time (about 2 hrs). Came home, left it on until it died, then did a full 4 hr charge. The GUI says "Charging ..." when it's plugged in but after the 4 hrs it still showing up as 0%.

Contacted Foresight and of course they point out it's out of warranty and they'd be happy to support it for a fee.

Aside from the inconvenience of not knowing how much battery is left (and killing its resale value) it still seems to be operating fine.

Was curious if anyone else have run into this issue and if there is any fix or if anyone knows of a place to buy replacement batteries for the GC3.

    Thanks!

An update in case others are also running into this issue:
A user in another forum mentioned that he had a similar issue with me where the battery would function properly but the GUI would show the battery meter dropping rapidly upon turning on and eventually staying at 0%. He called Foresight and the support team remotely performed a Battery Meter Reset and it's worked perfectly since.

Reached out to Foresight and they said they also believe a battery meter reset will resolve the issue and am willing to do it without a fee. Trying to schedule a time when I can be home on my PC with them (guess they can't do it on a Mac). Will post an update after the reset.

Foresight did the Battery Meter Reset today remotely. Took 5 mins. Turned the device on then back on and it's now showing the correct battery levels!
