  • GC2 "Bluetooth Service Required" message

    Hi All,
I recently bought a GC2 off of Ebay and the bluetooth isn't working (doesn't show up in the scan list). The seller told me that he was exclusively using Bluetooth with it and that it worked before he shipped it out (listing had a picture of the boot screen without the warning). I did take the battery out to get it repaired and used the GC2 plugged in without the battery. Not sure if that did anything however the error message still shows up with the repaired battery back in. Is there a way to do a hard reset? I read that holding down the power button does it, however when I do that I hear clicking noises and the screen says to not hold down the power button.

The GC2 has the 4.0.0.15 FW and I'd like to try downgrading to a different version to see if that changes anything. Does anyone of a previous FW version that can send me? I have HW version 3.

No one can help? I just need a FW version prior to 4.0.0.15 and I don't have access to the download section.

A member sent me the 3.5 firmware however unfortunately that did not resolve the issue.

In my experience, the firmware cannot write and reset bluetooth accordingly. It may be necessary to consider whether the bluetooth interface is still working properly. Under normal circumstances, bluetooth will not be damaged. If you can tell that the device has bluetooth communication function, you can see it at the bottom of the gc2 device and if it shows GC2-A, you can ensure that this device has bluetooth communication module, and if it is gc2 it doesn't have bluetooth transmission, However, foresight retains the function that can upgrade bluetooth and can be upgraded by buying bluetooth module. It seems that it costs about 300USD. I have tried to upgrade many gc2 bluetooth. Successful access enables bluetooth modules to make it a working device (Bluetooth module is at the top of the lens, when you take apart gc2, you can notice that there is a convex PCB board at the top of the lens. You can view it. Bluetooth and non-bluetooth module are the same volume but non-bluetooth module does not support bluetooth transmission, just need to replace it )

          Hi,

Just wondering if anyone found a fix for the “bluetooth not working” error message?

This is a pretty old post. If you don't get a response, you might want to create a new one. Also, the participation in this forum has dropped off over the past couple of years. I think a lot of the guys moved to discord with GSPro, so that may be another place you might be able to find help. Good luck!
