  • FSX 2020 Transfer without Login Info

I finally pulled the trigger on a quad through private party(ebay). The seller included fsx 2020 in the sale.

I asked the seller (before I pay) how they would deliver the login information and activation code since the item is being shipped.

They indicated I would need to call Foresight and provide the serial number and Foresight would transfer the quad for $1,000 and FSX 2020.

Does it sound right that Foresight will transfer the FSX 2020 license by providing the serial number and paying the fee? Do I need more info from the seller to get the license?

    Thanks!

The FSX license is not part of the hardware transfer, I would contact the seller's Foresight rep and get the answers before paying. The seller should just have to hand over the deactivated license key or the username and password to the account, going through Foresight isn't necessary to transfer the software.

You need to think of this in two parts: hardware and software.

First, the GCQuad hardware does NOT need to be transferred to a new user. That is your option to do that. However, once you buy it and if you need to send it in for service, that is when you would need to pay the $1,000 fee to get it into your name. So that is always lingering over you, but there are a lot of second owners who have never paid the $1,000 fee.

Second, the software it will depend on the FSX2020 being sold. If the FSX2020 account is the "basic" account, that is, no additional courses have been bought by the original owner and FSX2020 is coming with the original 10 courses, all you need to do is get the activation code from the prior owner, the prior owner needs to deactivate it from his computer, and then you can download on your computer and activate. Do not lose the code! And Foresight makes it hard to get it set up -- you will need to download yourself the 10 courses that come with it.

If the prior owner has purchased additional courses (EX: Pebble, Cabot Cliffs, etc...) then the prior owner will need to give you the activation code AND give you his log in and password. Then deactivate from computer. Then, you download FSX2020, activate, and log in under his user name and password. Then you can download the 10 free courses, and any other purchased courses. Once done, you can change the user name and password and now it is your account.

Under no circumstances do you need to pay a $1,000 fee to Foresight for transferring the software. Ever.

Thank you! This clears it up entirely for me. Will be sharing some of the details with the seller to finalize the deal. Appreciate everyone’s quick help.

You can change the id, password, and email by logging in to fsxliv id to perform operations similar to transferring accounts. You can also unbind the bound computer host and fsxlive account by using the license code. This releases the fsx2020 license code (provided no other courses are purchased, only the base course)

Thanks for the info. Purchased a new computer for Play (and FSX) this Spring, I will be transfering the program when the weather cools.

                Thanks again !!

To those saying that the Quad and FSX are separate, you are incorrect!!!

That is true with other LMs, but if sold together, they transfer together and only one single transfer fee.

Of course, contact FS and verify since it could have changed but not likely. That is how it's done with the Quad.
