New FSX Play update v1.8.0.13 just posted

The guys came this weekend to play and we had some issues with the new update. Decided to play Egypt Valley. Played the first hole with no problems. The Distance Indicator disappeared on the next hole and never came back on. After a few holes, decided to go the Ballyowen and the same thing happened. I was going to reinstall the last update but they just wanted to play. One of the guys had a 50 ft putt that went 175 yards. I haven’t seen that happen on the green but has happened twice before when the ball would hit a bush or the top of a bunker or mound. After they left, installed the old update and had no problem with the distance indicator. Reinstalled the new update again and it seemed to work. I will be calling the tech support and leave a message on Monday. I hate to be the badass here but I think it is very important to call Foresight with any problems you have, no matter how small. For the most part, the tech guys have been great and have always gotten back to me. Unfortunately, they pass the information on to the people who design the program. Too bad these people are very bad at their job. Like most of you, some of my courses have not been updated to FSX Play. There really is no excuse for that.

I have found that exiting the round with saving followed by loading again restores the distance indicator. Not a true fix but an easy work around. I also have had 4 instances since the new update where balls hit with a putter have skyrocketed off, all of which were putts from the fringe or fairway. The launch monitor registers the shot correctly but the ball mechanics are off in FSX Play. I was able to recreate the shot with mulligans, tried adjusted clubs within the game, but was able to reproduce the skyrocket each time with a putter. Both issues have only happened a few times but certainly is frustrating when they occur.

ENadeau, if you haven’t done so, please contact Tech Support and tell them your issues.  I fact, i have been told by them to send photos or videos of any problems.  That being said, I did send them a video of the aiming line moving and was told that is the what  the program was designed to do.

I haven't played much FSX Play lately or this summer to be honest. But I did have a couple shots out of the rough that went like 400 yards. I used mulligan and hit again with same result. Not sure what thats all about?

Had my group over this weekend and had more problems with this update. Wanted to play Egypt Valley but was unable to select the tee box. Went to Linfield and the same thing happened. Shut down the program and after a restart, it worked. Got to the second shot on Egypt Valley and the distance indicator quit working. Then went to Pebble Beach and the distance indicator quit working on the 3rd hole and never came back on. This makes it almost impossible to play. Also, the ball drop on the green wasn't working very well. I did send pictures and a video to tech support. I may just go to FSX 2020 until they can figure things out. It would be nice to have thins working properly when my busy season starts in a few months. I want to give a shout out to Andrew at tech support. I was having flickering problems again on some of my courses, this was after paying a lot of my for my 4070ti video card. After sending him some videos of what was happening, he emailed me back and said they replicated the problem themselves and will send it to the course development team. It was encouraging to see that they really do care about our problems. Again, if anyone is having any issues, please send them pictures or videos. This is the only way we can help them solve the problems.
