  • GC2 Not registering shots from the front area of the hitting box- New Flash?

    Hi,
I bought a broken GC2 from ebay for not very much money. The unit has been shanked. Bluetooth card has snapped, and the top housing is broken and the IR window is broken. Anyway with luck I got it up and running now with Andy's (gc2flash) help.
The usb port works fine, so ok for Sim golf. The main issue is that the unit doesn't register shots when the ball is towards the front of the hitting area box. If I place the ball towards the back it seem ok. Is this likely to be the flash needs replacing. I'm just about to order a replacement from Andy.
Note- the GC2 immediate sees the ball in the hitting area (left or right). When it registers a shot the stats look spot on (I have access to a MLM2Pro to compare against).

Update- high wedge shots seem ok from the front. But my low 7 iron punch shot seems to be the issue from the front. The unit is flashing on the no reads. Is it just a limitation of the gc2, is there a preferred area to hit a Driver, wedges, low chip shots etc.

This is not a limit of the GC2. If it sees the ball in the box and you have a green light, it should read well. There is no preferred area for different clubs or shots.

It sounds like the unit needs Foresight service. I suspect it's the camera alignment not the flash but you can try changing the flash. It sounds quite beat up from what your describing.

I'm guessing Foresight might reject the service or charge me £££s. I can't imagine them doing an alignment without wanting to charge for a replacement front cover and bluetooth module.

Yes they will charge you and it won't be cheap. If you can get it working with accurate results and minimal no/miss reads by placing the ball in the center or back of the hitting box then just continue doing that.
