Great forum. Read it almost daily during sim season! I just wanted to share a great experience I had that greatly improved my golf simulator experience. Quick background: I had my sim installed in my garage by Foresight in the Fall of 2019 after doing endless research (this forum helped immensely). I chose to purchase a dedicated laptop on my own to run FSX 2020 with my GSQuad. Pretty basic 4 years ago. Golf Simulation has improved immensely, especially as the technology demands have increased exponentially with FSX Play and GSPro. My old Dell G7 laptop couldn’t handle Play and the stuttering began. FSX 2020 and E6 are workhorses and work fine, but the more advanced technology outgrew my laptop. George Hughes, Foresight Sales, suggested that before I purchase the next laptop, to speak to Surfthing. Foresight and Surfthing are partnering. With Black Friday approaching, I thought a second opinion before getting a laptop replacement on my own was a good idea. And I am so happy I did! I spoke to Scott Jones at Surfthing who gave me options and discussed why a custom build desktop is more practical with the high demands of golf simulation. He can log in and assist if I have an issue with the desktop/software in the future. I could have done it for less, but for $3,300.00, the service, the warranty, and with the ability to upgrade in the future, I feel it’s worth every penny. Scott was exceptional. I would highly recommend using Surfthing. This is what they do!
