GC3 Ball Enabled w/ GSPro - total cost?

I am considering ordering the GC3 ball only version (Canada - no BLP available), but am confused on the total cost if I want to use GSPro.

The unit is listed for $5100 which only includes FSXPro.

I emailed Foresight and they confirmed I would need FSX2020 to run GSPro at a total cost of $7600.

Do I really need to spend another $2500 +250 USD per year to use GSPro?

This seems way higher than others have suggested.

Unfortunately, an FSX2020 is now the requirement to play GSPro with the official Foresight connector.

Frankly, if you are only concerned with ball data only, a much cheaper option would be a used GC2. Would save you close to 5000. No sub fees required for GC2 either, and no requirement to purchase FSX2020 (or any Foresight software, for that matter).

Thanks for the feedback. Foresight confirmed again I would need to purchase FSX2020 in addition to the monitor. I’ll look into a GC2 and other cheaper options.

The normal GC3 does go on sale from time to time. I got mine for 6k with fsx2020 and fsx play on black friday last year. I run GSPro 100% of the time, but I do technically have the other software. They also have certified Pre Owned GC3s on sale for 6k, which could be a good option (they also have the ball enabled bundle with FSX 2020 software for 6k, but maybe that's different in Canada).

IMO, I would not get the ball enabled GC3 as Club Path is arguably one of the most important data points there is. If a standard GC3 is not an option because of price, I would consider a Mevo+ if you have the space for it. So much more data for a like a 1/4 of the price. You just need to be sure you have space behind the ball and between the ball and the screen.

I have actually thought about getting a Mevo+ just for the additional data points. GC3 + Mevo is still half the price of a GCquad.

Yeah I’m going back and forth on the Mevo+ and the Skytrak Plus. I only have 15 feet total though so it seems to rule out the Mevo+.

I can’t find any real detailed comparison between the two. Lots of YouTube videos comparing the two but nothing with a lot of detail on the performance/accuracy of the devices.

FYI...I have a GC2 that I will probably be selling in the near future. I upgraded to the GC3 to get the Club Data but am keeping my FSX licenses. Works fine but will need new battery as it doesn't hold a charge long without being plugged in. Hasn't been a big deal to me as I only use it in my simulator plugged in. Let me know if you might be interested. Haven't really even thought about value yet but might help you accomplish your goals.

OP is in Canada and Foresight Canada ( in Elmira, Ontario ) does not have the great promos that occur in the USA.

I paid $10,150 $C + our 13% HST tax to get my GC3 back in October. There was a promo at the time where I got 10 bonus courses ( St. Andrews, Pebble Beach, and a few other notables ).
