    GC2 bluetooth issue

My GC2 was working just fine 2 days ago. It now has a problem connecting to TGC 2019 It seems to have a bluetooth issue. The dongle is good, the cable to the computer is good. All of the com ports are ok. I have checked all the connection issues that can happen. The GC2 will not pair to the computer. I can pair anything else to the computer without an issue. Is there something inside the GC2 that can go bad that will make the bluetooth not work? The GC2 works fine as a stand alone unit. No issues with the flash, it sees all the shots.

Thanks in advance for any help,
    Steve

Might be worth still trying another BT adaptor. I had one that just stopped working but would work with other things. Replaced it and the GC2 worked again. Never figured out why.

Thanks for the reply. I did try that and nothing changed. I had somebody else look at this issue and they thought it was something to do with the GC2. Neither of us that looked at this is an expert. I am just hoping that some body has had this issue before.

If you search for BT devices on your phone, does the GC2 show up?

I did try that. The phone picked up every thing in the room except for the GC2. Do you know if the bluetooth signal comes from the mother board? Maybe that is what I need.

I never had that exact issue but over the years the GC2 quit working in various modes. The fix had alway been just opening up the case and replugging/pushing in etc the various connectors. The internal connectors aren't the greatest and apparently the GC2 getting moved around sometimes loosens them.every now and then. Opening the case requires removing six screws so it's an easy possible fix before exploring more esoteric fixes.

I pulled out the ribbon connectors. When I put them back I must have damaged one of them. Now I get an error message. I am so screwed, I might have to send it too Foresight. That means 500 dollars to register it. Then remove Andys super flash and install the old one from Foresight that doesn't work. They will replace that with one of their 500 dollar flashes. The ribbon cable is probably a very special one. That will be another 100 dollars. Another 300 dollars to fix the bluetooth issue. Shipping and handling both directions. Throw in an extra 200 dollars just because, and I am looking at a repair bill of 2,000 dollars. The things I do , just to hit golf balls.

I would just recommend buying another GC2 for that price. Or simply moving up to a BLP. No way is a GC2 worth that cost for repair.

Get in touch with Andy. He fixes these things all the time and has probably seen your problem before. I'd give plugging in the ribbon connector another go. Just jiggle it around a bit. Probably you are just not making a good connection on all lines.

I agree with you, that repair cost is too much. A different machine might be in order. I don't know what a BLP is. I will try to look it up.

I have tried to get in touch with Andy. I have not heard from him yet. I think he is my best shot to get this fixed. I brought the GC2 to a local repair shop. He didn't think that the parts would be available to fix it. I will find out in a couple of days.
