If I don't pay Foresight $500, what functionality will I be missing? Does any software work, or do I only get use of the built-in LCD screen? Thank you.

Question regarding a used GC2

Is Foresight still charging this? Regardless- there are no licenses for the GC2. You can use USB/Bluetooth and connect it to a computer, then connect it to GSPro. You need a tiny bit of free software to make the connection to GSPro. I downloaded mine from Discord. Obviously you need to pay for GSPro. I'm sure other simulators are the same- TBC. Not sure on the Foresight Official software- seems very expensive. If you get a GC2 with a Axxxxx serial number then the bluetooth should work with Apple. There is a free Foresight app, but it's rubbish.
Why can't someone make a new GC2 launch monitor with no frigging licenses????

FR1 works stand alone with no license required. The only thing you would need a Foresight license for is if you want them to repair it. FR1 software is around for free from some users. It's graphics are not the latest but unless you are into 4k resolution it's just fine as a range and course simulator. There are about 90 or so courses available.
At one time I had all the course and the Fr1 software up on Google Drive and let quite a few people have at it. However under the rubric that no good deed goes unpunished someone got into the data and screwed it up by replacing some of the data with their own. I got tired of this crap so I just deleted the whole thing.Last edited by Ronsc1985; 02-14-2024, 01:52 AM.

You do NOT need to pay $500 to Foresight to have 100 percent full functionality of a GC2. The only reason to pay the $500 is if you had to send it in to be worked on. Foresight will not talk to you unless it is registered in your name -- and that costs $500 for a GC2. Frankly, I would send it to Andy (if needed) to see if he could fix it if something broke. And if Andy couldn't fix it -- well, I'd probably try and sell it for parts and either buy another or upgrade to something else.Originally posted by pcascio View PostIf I don't pay Foresight $500, what functionality will I be missing? To have a great experience with GC2:- Buy the GC2
- Do not buy any Foresight software
- Buy GSPro for $250/year
- Enjoy!
