  • New FSX Play v1.10.0.10 Released

    FSX Play | Foresight Sports

    FSX PLAY v1.10.0.10:
    • Window Driver Swing Camera Support
      • Cameras Which Connect Through An API Or SDK (Image Source, Point Gray, Etc) Not Supported.
    • Improved Distance Function In Practice Mode
    • Selectable Mini-Map Screen Position
    • Added Lie Penalty Refactor (Flier Chance Removed, Reduction Penalty Applied To Distance Instead Of Speed/Spin)
    • QuadMAX Integration
    • Selectable DLSS NVidia Video Card Performance Integration And Performance Improvements

I will personally be pretty upset if my $1000 worth of Imaging Source cameras/lenses "are not supported" ............. will be trying this out today.

Has anyone noticed new and strange behaviour with the “follow” camera view?

And the map isn’t sticky anymore. Foresight likes to break things. There are other things I’ve noticed but it’s simpler just to play other software.

downloaded it because it locked me out of buying anything if I didnt.....got a weird error on download, but it seems to work. Haven't played though since I'm mostly using gspro until these bugs are worked out 5-6 years from now

Fixing Lie Penalty to go back to the FSX2020 approach sounds like undoing some damage. This is the first time I see that the way it formerly worked was to affect spin or speed. I was never able to determine what it did, or whether it did anything at all.

So far happy with update. Camera works well and they clearly just used Swing Catalysts stuff and I love it. Mulligans are fixed during matchplay which is fantastic. Graphics seem better maybe just a little bit even tho I just not be able to use that DSLL. Lies are a bit too much in my opinion. Sand at 50%, damn you have to kill it to get out of deep bunkers. It’s ok tho it’s supposed to be a penalty. Love the post round screen that given summary of top stats. Sorry I’m not your typical complainer who is going back three update or bragging about GSP

Ha - Priceless! Actually I fully agree with your assessment - so far so good. I am not seeing any retrogration that some have seen but I have a pretty modern desktop system. I too really like the post round stats page - great addition.

Only issue I have seen is the camera recordings seem to take a while to process. It seems to take about 20-30 seconds following the shot to have the image appear to review - far too long IMO but it could be my settings. I had set it up initially to record to hard drive, I will remove that and see if there is any improvement.

I would really like to know more about what is being implemented wrt DLSS - and are there any settings applicable. So far, I have not found any. I mentioned on discord it would be great to get a better "Release Notes" file - pretty standard IMO.

Overall, pretty happy with the progress. And they finally updated Willmette - so only missing 6 now, 4 or 5 of which may have gone away.

I have the cheap cameras, I think it works amazingly well !!! Same thought with the wait, but I'm OK with that, I'm sure with updates it will get shorter.

Thanks for the information. Are there any additional features with play back? When you draw lines does it show the angle (degrees), etc.?

Hey Tom, yes there are a series of drawing tools. I checked and yes when you insert an angle the degrees show numerically - kinda cool. Also noted that by electing not to store the videos on my PC the delay is down to about 5 seconds. Still annoying but workable.

jasonreg tkvaughn999 did you gentlemen run the update directly through FSX Play, install straight over via website, or completely uninstall current version followed by fresh install of new version?

Installed straight over current version from website download. I have yet to see the update available through the in-game app.

I think those of us who are in your words, “your typical complainer”, are posting(not complaining)because we are frustrated with the quality of the programming Foresight is putting out. In addition, and I am speaking for myself, if FSX Play was performing as well as FSX2020 did, I would never have heard about GSPro. I am happy it is performing well for you and hope it continues.

Install went smoothly enough. Playing around with DLSS causes some graphical errors but I've only tested on the driving range. Graphical issues are minimal and only seem to affect the bouncing distance meter in that it appears significantly blurry while the remainder of the screen is totally fine.

New tracer options are a nice addition, especially on the driving range. Still running into issues with the data tiles when bouncing between horizontal and vertical. Vertical disappears completely if I set that prior to hitting a shot but will appear fine if I hit a single ball on horizontal/default and then adjust.

Lost all Favorite players after the install and there appears to still be bugs around Player names. The first screenshot should be showing Player 2 listed versus Player 4 and the second screenshot should be showing Player 1 but it seems to be a continuation of players as in there is no reset. It does appears Foresight has increased the quantity as it previously caped out at 11 and would not allow me to add additional players. Not it appears as though the Player count does not reset but there is no cap, at least not one that I've run into after add 35 players. I'm curious to see if this resolves the player name swapping issues mid-round as well.

I certainly would prefer not to be running previous versions but it's a touch embarrassing when having groups of players run into gamebreaking bugs. While most can be worked around with bandaid fixes, the biggest one that we run into regularly is when using a mulligan/re-hit/drop ball in game and it completely removes the following player from the round and duplicates the player hitting. Example; Eric hits, Jon hits, Steve hits and takes mulligan, Jon disappears from rod and two Steves appear with Eric. There is zero work around with that bug, not even saving the game and re-launching resolves, and causes the round to be cancelled. Foresight Support has been able to replicate and I've spoke with a dozen or so members between this forum and others, as well as Foresight Support/Roadmap boards experiencing the same issue(s) with no resolution as of yet.

I have a multiple monitor setup. Main FSX Play screen on the projector and I generally use swing analysis or swing catalyst on the tv monitor directly in front of my hitting position. Third monitor sits by the PC for other tasks. Following the latest update I cannot assign which monitor does what. You used to be able to select each monitor and assign as primary or secondary (or maybe that was FSX2020?) but this is not possible. I was able to select my primary using the windows display settings and my monitor identified as "2" is my primary. FSX Play is automatically selecting "1" the desktop monitor as my secondary display and there is no way to move it over to the TV on the wall - monitor "3".

I can just drag stuff around the extended desktop in every other program incl GS Pro. Any ideas?

Does this version fix the horrible mega-spin from the bunkers problem? Playing courses like Pebble and a standard bunker shot will spin backwards like crazy - it's been incredibly annoying.

This version made the bunkers almost unplayable. Green side bunker says 50% but I mapped it with gcquad. 30 yards to pin requires 113 yard hit on gcquad. That’s 3.77 times what you need. Had a game this weekend where all 4 players were close. My 3 opponents got in same green side bunker with 40 yards to pin. No one got out before they reached stroke limit.

DLSS is a tech on 40xx series GPUs that try to use AI to generate additional frames to improve display. What is not clear to me is how exactly FSX Play is trying to use it and other than on/off what tweaks are avail within the software. Especially with most projectors capped at 60 FPS ....

I think it applies to RTX 3080 3090 as well. I messed around with it yesterday. Turning down resolution and turning up DSLL setting results is a pretty good looking display with frame rate at or over 100. Happy with it and that was playing Spanish Bay. True test will be playing St Andrew’s, it’s the most demanding

3060 and 3060 ti have DSLL as well. You can see that on Nvidia website. I’ve set it to “ultra” and seems to work but don’t see a difference on my 4K projector.
