So basically, I have one day to decide if I want to add the club data. Which I have enjoyed, but I really would like face-to-target and path included. The price now is $1500, but it goes to $1750 if I don't do it by tomorrow. Has anyone added the club data after the trial and still got the special $1500 pricing? If they run promotions on it I may just wait until they do so again.

BLP worth keep if you don't add the club data?

You've raised an excellent point. I decided to make the purchase a short while ago, as upon further reflection, I realized I would regret not having it. Over the past two weeks, understanding my angle of attack and club path has proven beneficial. While club speed and smash factor are nice to have, they aren't as critical to me. Given that you can achieve the same ball flight with an open clubface and an out-to-in swing as an in-to-out swing and a square clubface, it was essential to know the club path. I hope that they will eventually find a way to include face-angle information, as it would be incredibly useful. However, due to potential accuracy issues or a desire not to infringe on the GCQUAD domain, it might not happen. Although Bushnell and Foresight are approaching launch monitors differently, there's still a chance it could be introduced in the future.

Face to Path would be really nice, but it can be reasonably extrapolated with Spin, Path, and HLA. I still think Club Data is crucial if you are in a spot where you are either trying to improve/overhaul your swing, or you are trying to work shots in different directions. When ever my swing gets out of sorts, I always go back to path and start there.
Impact Location is the other major paywall stat, but there are also work arounds. Things like sprays and impact tape aside, a keen eye on the rest of the data is often very telling regarding where you hit the ball on the face.
Unfortunately, Foresight knows that if they gave us Face to Path and Impact location on our GC3s/BLPs, nobody would pony up an extra 10k for a Quad, but you will never convince me they couldn't do it with a simple software update...

If it is possible with the hardware in the BLP/GC3, I bet it will be another club add-on in the future or an additional subscription fee we have to pay each year. I wonder if they would come out with something like the HMT for the BLP/GC3 to give an extra camera or two to add face angle.

Does anyone know the math here? Is it as simple as putting the Spin, Path, and HLA into a spreadsheet to estimate the Face to Path?Originally posted by JaybirdCU View PostFace to Path would be really nice, but it can be reasonably extrapolated with Spin, Path, and HLA. t'sHLA minus club path equals face to path is close enough for piratical use. .The only complication is HLA may be +/- 1% on camera units like GC3, GC2.. It's just the nature of how HLA is measured using a side view. The way it's done is by comparing the diameter of the ball image between start and flight . For a right hander down flight smaller ball image means pull, bigger image is pushOriginally posted by MadMax2021 View Post

Yeah, that is pretty much spot on. I start with HLA minus Swing Path to get an estimate on F2P. I spot check with side spine. Face open to Path should give Fade spin, Face closed to Path should give Draw spin. If the two don't correlate, then gear effect is probably the culprit, assuming its not an absolute shank.Originally posted by Ronsc1985 View Postt's

For those that don't know, gear effect is essentially the spin imparted on the ball from an off center hit. The rule of thumb is that a ball spins toward the center. So a toe strike will give draw spin, a heal strike will give fade spin. High on the face will reduce back spin, and low will increase it. That said, once you get too far from the center off the face, that all kinda goes out the window. For example if you hit it off the toe so much that your club face opens, the ball probably isnt going to draw on you.
