    GC2 green dongle

Do all GC2 with a green security dongle have FR1 licenses? The guy selling one on eBay doesn't seem to know whether he has the demo FR1 or a full version.

Just looking to see if this is a valid substitute if the other purchases don't pan out. I know nothing about the software pre-FSX.

I don't know this for sure, but I think the demo versions do not have a green dongle. I think the green dongle gives you an FR1 license. Does he have any courses? I think the demo version only had the range. If you want, I can get you a course file and he can load it to see if access it.

FYI, GSPro is a better option than FR1 and will work with a GC2 or other Foresight launch monitors. FR1 does have a decent range feature wise and there are a lot of FR1 courses out there (maybe ~75-100) , but the graphics are very dated so I wouldn't pay much for a green dongle. GSPro is up to something like 600 courses and 4k resolution.

I agree and intend to use GSPro, I just have a dead GC2 I lost to a power surge that I want to replace and there's only 3 on eBay at the moment. One of them costs a bit too much but if it came with FR1 then at least I'm not overpaying for nothing.

Why don't you talk to Andy to see if he can fix your current GC2. The charger for a GC2 has transient suppression built into it so unless you had something like a lightning hit on a nearby line the damage may be minimal.

I may yet do that but the pricing isn't terrible right now and I'd rather grab a replacement in the meantime. If it's repairable, I can always sell the extra locally.
