FSX Play update 1.13.0.8 Lie penalty

    Hi

I am thinking about if the problem with sever lie penalty has come back in this version.
If the penalty is -30% off on ball speed it is really hard to get out of the rough.
Any one else thinking the same?

Haven't really messed around with it but does it change if you change the rough setting? Light vs heavy? I mean if your way of the fairway in the bad stuff its ok to be 30% but not in light rough.

When you get Severe Lie Penalty, it is indeed brutal. On a course like Carnoustie it's all over the place, and with narrow fairways that is an extremely tough course.

Is it harder than hitting a ball into really severe rough in real life? Probably not. Lots of times you just have to chop out into the fairway. Same thing here is how I look at it.

One thing that has changed a lot in the latest update is how the greens behave. I am not sure it is for the better. I can now routinely spin back full wedges, which is fun, but pitch shots even in the 10-20 yard range basically stop where they land, which is not realistic. I'm going to experiment with a very low-spin ball to see if it works better.

I haven't messed with it much but you use to be able to adjust green softness/hardness and it made a HUGE difference. Also depended on ball speed. I always felt like soft spun back too much and medium didn't spin back at all. I will experiment tonight.
