  • GC3 keeps losing connection via wifi

I've been using my GC3 with PLAY setup for about 2 years and have dealt with all the constant software issues that many of us have. But recently (~5-6 weeks), my GC3 has been losing connection to the Play software randomly. During a 1.5 hour practice session, sometime it would disconnect 6-7 times, and there would be times where it doesn't disconnect at all. When it disconnects, sometimes it'll reconnect on it's own after 3-4 minutes or I have to power off and on the device for it to reconnect again. Obviously this is super annoying. I'm running the latest firmware and software on both the device and PLAY software. My wifi connection is super stable and strong so it's my the wifi issue.

    Anyone else having similar issues?

I contacted Foresight to see if they had a fix for it and their response was to use a wired connection, which is a ridiculous answer. Another rep suggested I use a direct wifi connection between the device and the computer but that means I don't have internet connection on the computer and have to manually disconnect and connect the wifi each time I use it which is not ideal.

I experienced the same issue last year after a Windows 10 update. The wifi connection got disconnected immediately after just 1 shot. Foresight suggested the same solution that use the wire connection. Only the Ethernet cable connection would provide stable connection all time. A few month later, I upgraded to GCQuad which has no wifi module at all.

Sometimes the wifi router also plays a role. To me, only the google nest router connected gc3 to Play successfully.
