  • Falcon distance from screen to falcon / mat

Hi everyone… the recommendations from foresight are saying that the falcon should be 10 feet from the screen and then the mat another 40” from that… That put the hitting zone at 13-14 feet. That seems excessive to me. Where is everyone mounting their units and where is the hitting mat in conjuntion? Most everyone seems to be putting the hitting mat around 10 feet from the enclosure. Any thoughts or opinions on this?

Yes, most folks hit from 10'ish feet +/- a couple of feet depending on there situation. 10' is the sweet spot IMO and you should be gtg according to the manual.

The Falcon to hitting area dims are locked as per attached image. I have my Falcon mounted closer than recommended (4ft 9inches from screen), which leaves my ball sitting about 8.5ft from screen (when hitting from the club and data section of the mat).

The bounce back is not an issue for me at this distance.

GerardN with your set up like that, are you getting the 59 inch hitting zone width?

Only the mounting height would affect the projected detection area on the mat. My falcon is mounted at 9.5 ft height so on the lower side and my detection area seems to be a little less than the 59 inches - I just now measure it at 54 inches wide.

I am going to shift the falcon further from the screen and a little higher, but it does work fine at is current position even tho it is closer than recommended (this distance is recommended due to bounce back only)

I kept it as close as possible to screen as I have a fireplace which I was afraid I could shank into, and it was handy for me to fix to enclosure frame. Now I am not so worried about the fireplace, as no shank comes close, so I will shift the falcon another foot away from the screen and directly onto the ceiling.

It doesn't matter. It's camera and tracks only for a short distance. IMO 9.5-10.5 feet is an idea distance for any sim due to comfort, wear and ball flight.
