  • Current New Quad Pricing

At $9,999 for a new unit with club data is that a deal too good to pass up or am I missing something ??????

I've seen used ones here offered for more, makes me leary of both.

My guess is they are blowing out inventory. Quadmax has been around for a bit - with Falcon and GC3 maybe they are looking to limit choices? And I do think it is a great deal, though that is from an early adopter!

I saw the advert yesterday, and thought wow - American’s are so lucky when it comes to these things.
I was quoted £13900 + VAT (20%) for a Quad in the UK a couple of weeks ago.

I can only think they’re selling off all the stock of GC Quads, so they can drop them from their lineup and only sell the new QuadMAX?

Foresight had the Quad Max on sale recently with club data for $15k. The Quad is now 8 years old design, and I would assume the cost to produce it is well under the sales price, and there are many new launch monitors that come out every year, although not many that directly compete at the Quad’s level. Having periodic sales rather than outright lowering the price for old technology is a way of getting maximum revenue from those who can afford it, but it is likely that the average sales price for both new and used will decline. $10k seems like a very good value now, but may not in a couple of years.

Considering people around here are still using GC2s, the Quad seems a safe bet to last a long time. I have had mine since 2017 and never had any kind of issue with it - the thing is a tank. I have not been convinced that any other launch monitor on the market is better for my use case (indoor, and I value club data highly). I think $10k is a great deal for the best monitor on the market.

The one thing the $9,999 club fitter’s bundle is missing is the simulation software that is in the more expensive package. No FSX2020, no FSX Play, no 25 courses, no Awesome Golf, etc. That would cost over $3,500 to add after the fact. Still a good price but know what you are getting.

Your profile says you have GC2 so maybe doesn’t matter and you can benefit from that package!

I really could.....and every now and then I get the itch for something new and shiny.....but I'm really not getting anything that my GC2/HMT combo can't do.......makes it hard to pull the trigger.

I had same thought process as you. Had a GC2/HMT. Figured what is the point of upgrading?

But having a Quad makes me happier than I ever thought it would. It is still a sexy device with an incredible form factor. And so damn good with data. With the new firmware update it never misses a single shot re 4 dot data capture. And I think I have had one misread out of thousands of shots.

You will not regret the upgrade if you do it.

I’ve felt like that for about 8 years since they released the Quad. My GC2 / HMT did everything the Quad did.
OK, there were a few things I’d have liked - larger hitting area, WiFi connectivity, single piece device for easier / quicker setup, more accurate (although at my level, a yard here or there makes no difference). Last year, I seriously considered it, but figured the Quad had been on the go for a long time and was likely to be superseded soon.

This year, they released the QuadMAX… so I decided to pull the trigger. Turns out this years offering is essentially a slightly upgraded Quad with a touchscreen. Again, a few nice features over the Quad, but nothing to write home about. My GC2 / HMT lasted 10 years, so hopefully by getting the latest model I’ll get another 10 years out of it. I’d be scared buying a Quad now that it becomes unsupported in a few years.

Anyway, although it’s not really a huge upgrade on the GC2 / HMT in terms of the numbers / data, it’s a huge upgrade to me. The ‘my tiles’ feature where I can choose what data to see on the screen is really useful… but the biggest upgrade for me is the larger hitting area (you don’t realise how restrictive the GC2 is until you try a Quad) and the WiFi connectivity… as my Bluetooth connection used to drop out occasionally, and FSX Play (which I use most of the time) needs a USB connection. Being wireless again removes a nasty trip hazard!

The value of the GC2 / HMT has dropped over the last year to next to nothing, but hopefully I can get a few thousand £’s back selling it (along with an unused FSX Play / 2020 / Pro licence) in the new year.
