BLP using screen only, never connecting to the internet. No subscription.

    Hi,

I'm outside the USA and there's a 'cheap' BLP for sale locally. If I never connect it to the internet can I just use it standalone at the range and just use the data from the screen. Do you get a regular 'nag' screen when it's powered on without internet connection after 45days?

I don't want an unusable or bricked unit.

Note- I already have an indoor LM, but I don't want to keep moving/disconnecting it when going out.

Yes it has to be connected to the internet every 45 days which should be no problem if you have or have access to a Wi-Fi network. The BLP. will connect wirelessly by itself if turned on. It stores the Wi-Fi password internally..

Thats the issue, I don't want to connect it the internet because it will possibly get locked out because its not in the USA. I want to use it without internet access or any subscription/simulator package. Just take it to the driving range and read the numbers off the LCD. Will the unit completely lock without internet access every 45days, or just keep working with a nag screen?

I don't know. Mine doesn't restart until it connects to my WIFI network when off for long periods of time like during the summer.

Can you skip the wifi connection and registration screens? The user manual says
The Launch Pro requires online registration renewal every 45 days. If the registration of your device has expired, all data channels from the Launch Pro (USB, ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth) will be blocked until registration renewal is completed. The Launch Pro will continue to work as a stand-alone device.

I never tried it that way because I always have it connected to the sim computer. You could try contacting Foresight to see if the user manual is still correct. I can't try it now because I had it on recently
