Got an email today at about 2pm from Foresight that this is the last day you can buy a unit with a perpetual license. Starting tomorrow, anything purchased from Foresight will come with the new premier software. There are three different Subscriptions. The first one is free. The second is the silver package which is $199. The third one is gold and that is $599. I am not sure subscription level you need to be at to be able to use the mobile app.Access to courses is not included in the silver or gold subscription. There are two different options for the courses. The first one is called course pass. It is $295 for the year and includes 35 courses. The second one is called course pass pro and it costs $595 a year and will give you access to 111 courses.I will add pictures of the different packages and also the email I received from Foresight. I will also post links to the premier site another Reddit user supplied in an older post. So far, I have not received any information about a discounted price for existing perpetual license holders. There is no information that I can find about unit pricing. If anybody’s heard any Other information, please share it here.

New Foresight Premier software looks very good but if it is subscription basedand the courses I have spent thousands on over the years is not taken into effect with pricing then I won’t be upgrading to it no matter how good it is.

Foresight posted FAQ information for existing customers and loyalty deals. A lot to unpack but sure seems like more money for new features (Course Pass).

Foresight can eat my shorts with their over priced subscriptions and hardware. Time to start shopping else where. There are several up and coming choices. Foreskin is not the only game in town. You would have to be crazy, in my opinion, to pay 7k for a gc3, 16k for a quad, or 20k for a quadmax and then shell out more money to use them. You are going to have to pay them 600.00 just to be able to use someone else’s (GSpro) software.

I’m very disappointed in the new pricing model. I agree with you, might be time to start looking at other products. Not much of a deal for legacy customers.

OK, I took the plunge, signed up for the trial and 50% existing user discount in the hope that it would be OK.

Played 2 rounds and found that It isn't ready.
It's another half-assed attempt at golf simulation, still full of bugs, incomplete in terms of gameplay options.

Remember, even at half price for 2 years, this is more than GS Pro.
I won't be proceeding past the end of the trial month.

In fact at present I feel like giving up and changing platforms.
I thought I was investing in the bast option I could afford, but they have no interest in home users at all.

Wish Rapsodo would get on with launching the CLM.
At the moment thinking Square Omni and keeping an eye on upcoming software like InfiniTees and PurePlay.

Bit of a downer really.

The experience you describe is not surprising in the least. They never finished 2020 or play and or fixed the bugs that have been around since it’s inception. I don’t play much if any sim golf so this current state of total ****ery does not directly affect me yet but it pisses me off to no end anyway. Foresight is sticking it to its customers plain and simple. I have no intention of renting the latest version of shit they are peddling and I damn well won’t be spending another nickel on hardware from them either.

I agree with much of what is being said. I still only have FSX 2020. I (fortunately) never bought Play. I did, however, buy many courses a few years ago (probably $1,500.00 worth). I love my GC Quad. It is the best camera-based unit you can buy. I just wish they would find something and stick to it (software). I understand why they are going the way of a subscription. They need a revenue stream to keep growing and developing their business. It just does not seem like they think things through.

does anyone know if the gc2 can use this software? its had its "end of life" notes for awhile now and the formal faq doenst' include the gc2 as compatible but it also doesnt' say it ISN"T compatible. anyone contact them yet or try it?

Hi everyone

This is typical foresight, but they must be feeling the heat from all the home user launch monitors like skytrak, rapsodo, golfjoy and now square.

I think foresight wants to focus on the commercial and tour side of the business.

The only other way this subscription model works is if they are about to drastically reduce the sales price of their hardware.

If you can buy a gc3 for 2k then people might be happy to pay the $600 subs and sub subs annually.

I don't think they can improve the hardware much.

We'll see what happens.

Totally agree with the price reduction on hardware but the greedy powers that be don’t see it that way. I really hope they lose new and repeat customers. I can’t see average people shelling out that much on hardware and then paying to use it. They are seriously delusional. Could you image paying for an upscale car and then paying the same company extra fees to use that car and then paying them more to buy gas from a different company all together.

You are probably right. With all of the "entry level to mid-level competition, they want to focus on the less "price sensitive" customers. It probably makes sense. You can't turn on a PGA event and not see a bunch of GC Quads/Quad Max units on the range. However, they will anger their "more upscale" users if they keep changing their software, etc. Even if cost is not an issue, it's still an annoyance to have to keep upgrading.

Yes, and the funny thing is, the Pro's don't pay for anything on tour.

They get paid to use, which only really leaves the commercial side of the business.

Paid-in-full GC3 owner here. I bought a "fully unlocked" device — Foresight's own launch marketing said "no software subscription necessary." If I wanted subscription software, why wouldn't I just buy the Bushnell Launch Pro?

Now the new generation of software is locked behind Foresight+ Gold at $599/yr ($299/yr for two years under the "loyalty" deal, then full price). That's not an "option to upgrade." That's bait-and-switch.

I emailed support on September 18. No response.

If you bought outright like me, don't just vent here — make it cost them:

1. File with the FTC: reportfraud.ftc.gov
2. File with the BBB at bbb.org — they get 14 days to respond, and silence hurts their rating
3. File with your state AG (California: oag.ca.gov)
4. Email Vista Outdoor / Revelyst media relations: media.relations@vistaoutdoor.com — ask the questions Foresight won't answer: did leadership know? Will they grandfather GC3 owners?

I'm going through all four — the more of us on record, the harder it is to ignore.

I don't get the angst from current owners of unlocked units. They have exactly the same unit, with exactly the same software and exactly the same third party integration available to them as when they bought their launch monitor. They got and will continue to get precisely what they paid for. No one is forcing them into signing up for the new software or membership plans.

I signed up for the Foresight+ Gold free trial for my QuadMax. I don't really have much interest in playing sim rounds so I'm not looking at the Course Pass add ons. My first impression is that the software is a big step forward vs FSX Play and 2020. It's obviously still an immature product, but I've so far really enjoyed it, especially the drills section. I expect the training and coaching capabilities will develop over time. I suspect they're trying to build something that eventually is on the same level as the Trackman software. They still have a long way to go but Premier to me feels like a decent first step.
