Ookie, I agree with what you said about skygolf and definitely will keep an eye on the ES16. What I will say though, the GC2 is the best value under $10K. It has everything and everything works great. It's a proven product. I was telling my buddy I'd consider the ES16 and maybe sell my GC2, he asked if I was high or crazy or both?

Yes, I completely agree. Just FYI, if your considering a used GC2, the only way foresight can block the way TGC and PG interface with the GC2 is via a firmware update.
So that being said, I won't update firmware unless it's a proven non blocking and useful firmware update. I'm on 3.10 and it's great. I don't have any complaints whatsoever. -
I fully agree that GC2 is a mature and proven product. I'll even go as far as to say that it is a major and proven COMMERCIAL QUALITY product, which is huge.
I'm on the waiting list for one myself. Need I say more?
ES16 is a wildcard right now. Is it POSSIBLE that it could be superior to GC2? Absolutely. But right now it is just vaporware.
I'm just optimistic with regard to Ernest Sports because they have a long history of making monitors for the end user. As people have said on other threads, the big box store market is tapped out. Everyone who wants one has one. The game is bleeding new players. Commercial is a dead market right now--there's basically zero room for growth. Yet regrettably, those who manufacture commercial launch monitors are holding on to the same business model. I'm hopeful that ES is the company that disrupts the LM industry like Uber did with taxis.
I'm still in the market for a used GC2. Foresight can do what they want with regard to new sales. But with regard to existing users, they better tread lightly because they could run into a legal buzzsaw if they intentionally cripple an existing feature for current users. If this were a different industry, public outcry could also put a hurting on them.
Smith and Wesson's lawyers tried to bully a few small gun shops late last year. The backlash brought them to their knees, with the CEO issuing apologies for the lawyers.

I like the way you think Ookie. You make lots of great points. As with everything, time will tell what will happen. I to hope for ES16 to come out a nice price - $3500 new with 1 year warranty.
Hindsight is 20/20 so a year from now we'll either be looking at all this saying it was worth the wait or saying I knew I should of bought that used GC2 for $4000.

I'm super happy with my flightscope an e6. I was leaning towards the GC2. But trips to my local dicks sporting goods turned me off to it (never worked right) I'm sure it was hit repeatedly in there.... So not a fair comparison. Xi plus with e6, new is approx 7.5k for both. No putting with flightscope. I have a small green and we actually putt, then enter scores.Comment
